BFG RMA question

i must admit i wasnt impressesed with bfg tech support. i had a faulty gtx 280 and it took bfg best part of a week just to reply! so much for 24/7 support. in the end i got the card replaced from the store i got it from.

Ah thats because it didn't send, Windows Mail is having a tantrum. I'll send through the ISP's client just now.

Edit: Jeff has provided me with the relevant info and the replacement card was shipped from the US yesterday as Wales didn't have any in stock, so fair enough response. :)

As they state 24-48 for processing time i guess i should wait until tomorrow before worrying where my replacement is. However coming up to xmas this is the only time of the year where i get a good amount of gaming done. Hope Jeff will oblige in finding out my RMA status and if i shouldnt get my hopes up to get any gaming done before xmas.

I'm also waiting on mine....the card was delivered to the Wales office on the 11th, but as of yet i've received no word. My previous emails with BFG were very swift and informative though.

Just hoping I get my replacement by Christmas too...

Jeff would it be possible to send a my gfx card to bfg and have them keep it till the 19th of january next year before the RMA gets processed? Or will the RMA number be valid untill then?

The RMA number will still be valid. I'd rather have you hold onto it until you are ready to ship the card out, just so there isn't any confusion or issues getting the replacement card back.

Hi Jeff,

I have a BFG card that i just bought off this very site. It was being sold as a b grade item so i fear that they will not replace it or offer me a refund, leaving me not being able to afford as good a card.

In the case that i may RMA the card to yourself, what is the process and is there any chance of getting it done by xmas ?

Thanks.

All you need to do is sent an email off to [email protected] (or myself) and they can create the RMA for you. Once you have the RMA number and the address to send it to you will need to ship it to our UK warehouse. Depending on stock levels and how fast it gets there, its usually a pretty quick turnaround. If they don't have the parts there we usually ship the replacements from the states, which takes a bit longer.

Since it is already Thursday (almost Friday for you), I can't be sure that you will get the replacement back by the holiday. If you do send it quickly and it gets there, say, Monday there might be something I can do. After that it might not get back to you until after the holiday.

Please let me know what you decide to do.

Thanks Jeff,

I am going to phone OCUK first thing in the morning and see what they offer me first. If they cant sort something out, I will definitely get it RMA'd to yourselves. I will let you know how i get on !

Tell us what you get back too! i got ultras back when my 8800GTX OC2 packed up

Ok i think my 8800GT OC is dying a painful death.. I was getting a few artifacts over the last week a few lockups and such. Today since ive installed it on my new mobo, it seems to be on its last leggs. ive had the card since around Jan this year but i cant find my invoce from overclockers what do you think my chances of getting a RMA on the card. Would like to add ive complained a good number of times to bfg about the temps the card we hitting idle and the tech support kept telling me nothing to worry about when the cards at 75 deg C idle. personaly i think the cards baked its self.

I had the same issues with my 8800gt OC that I got in late November. Tech supports only recommendation was to RMA it if it was running hot. Well mine died finally and its been a pain dealing with BFG since.

I just RMA'd mine two weeks ago and received a 9600gt 9 days later. An hour on the phone and three people later they finally stopped saying "that's the normal upgrade path" and that "they had plenty of 8800's in stock". They kindly set up an advanced RMA and claim to be sending a comparable card back to me "free of charge with a return label in the box." I called back two days after setting it up and asked if everything was alright since I received no confirmation and the guy on the phone told me that I was going to be receiving a 9600gt. After asking if there was another RMA he said "oh sorry, that's right you have another one" but had no additional information.

Needless to say I'm not impressed with the customer service in the States so far.

Came home to my rma replacement 260gtx maxcore, had the sli protector on but was missing the spdif (seems to be the case with every BFG RMA so good job i took both of them off before sending the faulty card back :D), couldn't see a single spec of dust inside it or on the fan blades so appears to be brand new/unused.

It was packaged decently enough but the backplate was weirdly sloped/bent where it slotted into the case, took no effort to bend back straight.

They have sent me the proper card back, with proper clock speeds and a quick Furmark run shows it's temps are a bit better than the previous, mainly the VRMs which are much lower now :)

All in all 9.5/10, losing a half point for the lack of confirmation/communication during. :D

Hurray, got my replacement back today. In return for my broken 8800gtx OC2 i got a 260 OC. Thats a minor upgrade so im happy (2-10 fps difference depending on the game). Got no feedback as to what i would get but then i didnt contact support after i sent it apart from a quick email to Jeff who got back saying he'll see what he could do to speed up the replacement.

Plugged it in... a quick reboot to sort out its drivers... sorted. Went back into playing GTA4 and its up'ed my graphics settings to high texture, nice one.

Most likely they'll ask you to ship it to:

BFG Tech
ATTN: RMA#(insert issued number here)
Unit 16 Withey Dyffryn Court
Dyffryn Business Park
Ystrad Mynach, Hengoed
Wales
United Kingdom
CF82 7RJ

Obviously need to wait for an RMA number to be issued first ;)
