BFG RMA question

Oh nice one at lest they havent changed the UK shipping location seems familir to the address i was given few years back when i had to RMA my old card.

Just thought I'd share this, BFG sent me another 9600gt on the 24th. I've called four times with no luck every time they tell me that the customer service is not in and tell me a different time to call back. Well they lied about that to because when I've called back, within the times they have given me, they have been mysteriously unavailable. I'm glad I've got most of their names and what time I called though. The person I spoke today told me he was setting it up for someone to call me today and yet I received no phone call. Anyone got any suggestions that might actually help me get a card that is not a downgrade?

BFG's warranty fails to deliver again!

kinda starting to know how you feel they are taking there sorry time replying to my rma as i need them to correct my return address also not heard a thing back from jeff since before xmass. im not very hapy or impressed at all.

Do not believe it!! My replacement card has done exactly the same thing. I come to turn on PC today and no display and gfx card fan at full!!
The spec of my machine is perfectly good, well ventilated, no faults as far as i know, my Corsair HX620 watt PSU is working stable. I just dont get it!?
Guess im gonna have to RMA the replacement gtx 260 aswell.

My only reasoning is that since playing GTA4 that has caused this!!
Is GTA4 making heavy use of graphics cards??

Dam that sucks hope they get your sorted still waiting on getting mine sorted out seems the place you send it to no one is there over the holidays so my RMA is sitting there waiting for someone to make arangements for delivery now. i realy think BFG needs a UK contact as its not 24/7/365 support. one good thing Jeff is looking into my RMA soon as he can so i hope something good comes out of this.

Been a bit tied up lately, but I will look into all of the issues at hand and I'll make sure that they get taken care of. I'll do my best to contact you guys within the next few days to get this sorted out :)

Thanks Jeff.

Have agree with the UK contact not being 24/7/365 support. Sent a reply to my previous emails about getting an RMA setup but no answer since writing to support yesterday.
I can understand not working certain times of year but BFG shouldn't advertise that they do.

Oh yea i should point out i went to the support webpage first and attempted to contact through the web form, i decided not to after i saw it doesnt list 200 series graphics cards!?!

Well ive sent a few emails to techsupport and jeff has got back to me before they have, Im still waiting on the reply i sent to support back before xmass. Must say thanks a lot to jeff for taking time when he has other things to be dealing with to help try and sort this out.

Just out of interest.. I never realised the BFG RMA thing was in wales. If i ever have a problem with my card could I pop along since its less than 20 miles away :) Or would they have a fit if i turned up and said 'hey butt this card is broken like i need a new one'? :)

re:

Hmm have contacted BFG about my card no longer working anymore, they asked for a S/N which I supplied and havnt heard anything back and its well over 24 hours etc, I did email them again but still no reply:confused:
I could really do with sending this card back asap, its been a hard few days not gaming:(
cheers

did u get the card from a store or the internet? how old is it? it turned out faster for me to take it back to the retailer.

it took me bout a week before i heard anything back from bfg.:(

re:

I purchased the card from overclockers.co.uk.
I purchased it around february 2007 so its out of normal warrenty.

I did get an email this evening about an RMA but it was the same one as i recieved the first time about giving them s/ n details etc:mad:

all getting very depressing now

thanks for the idea`s though

cheers all

re:

Hi all, after you send the s/n details back through email how long did it take to get a responce?
cheers all
mrix

Took from 2-4 days per response, but it has been 11 days since ive heard from there support what i find exceptianly bad ive had more contact with jeff than the tech support and RMA department at BFG. kinda happy my replacement is out for next day so fingers crossed i get a nice upgrade.

Just started playing GTA4 and in the last two days this has happened twice from a cold boot. Restarting sorts out the problem, otherwise my 320mb gts oc2 just goes on full fan and no display. This is starting to seem like its not a coincidence. I also have the same PSU if it means anything.

Wooohh, now if this happens for more than a few people then its more than a coincidence!
Restart doesnt work for me, even left PC on to warm up; heh i've tried everything to get it back into life. The card is fried somehow even though when i last turned it off it was perfectly fine! I could understand the card breaking during gameplay but this...crazy ?!?!

EDIT: Whaaaaat the ****!! AlexHull you is da man... ok well i didnt try everything i guess.
So i turned PC on; fan on max and no display as before, then hit reset button still nothing pressed it again still nothing... held it down for 3 secs... still nothing... tried it again for 3 secs and well once more for the sake of it and bing.... the fan slowed down... bios came up saying no keyboard connected - DISPLAY signal hurrah! reset button once more and now boots up all fine.

Absolutely crazy, gonna check bios settings.. but nothing changed since i built it over a year ago. So can anyone explain this one??

UPDATE: Seems a mobo + mem issue. Issue happened again and like previous attempts cmos reset didnt work. Seems to be a very random. Memory with bios seemed to develop an incompatibility?! Took 2 of the 4 sticks out got a display again, changed some voltage for memory settings, few other minor tweaks to slow memory timings, put extra mem sticks back in, reboot and works.

Seems odd why when i got a replacement gfx card the system was fine for a bit, maybe mobo detecting a new gfx at boot reset some bios settings that let it display and boot?! Not ruling out a mobo fault developing but working for time being. All in all argh.
