BFG RMA question

They were tied to nVidia, but don't worry they will change sign shortly and... who knows, this time it could be AMD/ATI vendor making super-duper-overclocked versions of ATI cards, and on top of that you will have life-time warranty with them.

No thanks.

likelihood of them sending out the card before this email....I'm not holding out for it.

I wasn't mate. BFG did this to themselves.

Well.. apparently there's going to be a lot of he said, she said so I'm starting to think even the employees (the ones that don't have the offices with windows) don't even really know what really happened at the end. Nvidia's going to say one thing, BFG people are going to say another... Bottom line is what Kyle said, "BFG killed BFG". If you think about it, even if Nvidia was a total douche to BFG, it's BFG that put BFG in the position of relying completely on Nvidia for their core business. Kudos to XFX for diversifying with ATI and kudos to Evga for diversifying with a strong breathe of motherboard products. BFG? So much potential was flushed down the toilet.

I don't think its just BFG thats the problem... they got shafted by nVidia, probably a good few people taking advantage of the warranty to try and get an upgrade and their GPUs seem cursed - very high failure rate from the GPUs I've handled.

They only upgraded people if they didn't have stock of the same card.

No, at one time they made it a point to upgrade everyone they could during an RMA. They stopped it a while ago, but that no doubt cut heavily into their profits.

That coupled with issues with nVidia and the Fermi delay would have caused major problems.

At last! After waiting since May for my RMA'd 295GTX (originally handled by Partners IT) I have finally had delivered another one. It is fitted and working perfectly with the highest temperature seen so far of 75 degrees C, when the previous one usually ran around 95 degrees C and failed at 100 degrees with maximum fan speed.

Edited. I have now tested it for 5 days (12 hours a day) and it is good un...still the highest temperature recorded is 75 degrees C. I have a feeling (but naturally cannot prove it) that this was a brand new card sitting in stock somewhere and has been returned back to BFG and tested (just a label on the bag) and then sent out to me.

Perhaps I should test it for a couple of weeks and put it up for sale on you know where....
