But nobody is going to remember Newcastle for coming 2nd though, are they?

And there performances over the last 10 years (especially as the last 5 years they've done nothing) isn't a real method of judging how they will perform next year.

Yeah not surprising what mangers we have had and poor running of the club. I have said we are in process of change backroom and squad and the type of players we brining in.

But what has spurs done in the past few years what will they be remembered for apart from improving their league position????

Newcastle have pulling power and Bigsam has pulling power

Nobody likes newcastle.. and newcastle fans...

we need to stick up for ourselves :p

I have nothing aginst the club and im a boro fan. i hope all 3 NE teams do well next season.

The only thing i dislike about the fans in the arrogance they think they are better than everyone else other than that they are okay most my friends are barcodes and we get along fine.

What im saying is over the last 5 years Spurs have gone from a mid-table side to the "best of the rest" where as Newcastle went from challenging for CL places to a mid-table side.

And Newcastle don't have pulling power, even your fellow Newcastle fans have said this.

I would have said Tottenham have more at the minute due do being in europe, finishing higher and being based in Landen.

Maybe the money is gonna go to Big Sams head and he'll make stupid buys an ruin his career you never know ;)

I can't believe people and the press when they say Arsenal are finished now that Henry left. As an Arsenal supporter I still think we can challenge for the title if we get lucky and have no major injuries this season.

Our youth and reserve team can get us a top 10 finish and this has been proven from the league cup results in past years when they have beaten some top sides. Henry - the highbury legend did nothing for us last season and the reason why we had such a poor season to our high standards is that we had some major injuries in the squad. Ljunberg was off modelling is CK boxes and Gallas injured his mouth moaning too much - All jokes aside; Good luck to Ljunberg at Westham.

At the end of the season we will be in the top 4; we may be 2-3 players away getting the title back but with such young players who knows..

this could go on for days this is last am saying on the matter. The only reason you give for not having pulling power is the "North East" and a poor 3 season which have been 14,7,13 three years before that we where 4,3,5 which is down to mismanagment of the club money and team...

Players have said they would love to play for newcastle in front of there Fans yet you say we have no pulling power. Berbatov has said he would love to play someday in the number 9 shirt at St.James yet we have no pulling power....

Big Club
Great Fans
52,000 staium
Very Good wages
Good youth setup
Club history

Is Newcastle pulling power nuff said

If he'd love to play for Newcastle and the club has plenty of money, why did he sign for Spurs?

I don't know can't read minds you do know he a Newcastle Fan??

Growing up in Bulgaria, Berbatov supported Newcastle United and as a birthday present was given a Newcastle United shirt with his name on it

Berbatov has been a Newcastle fan, and has made a point of trying to watch the Magpies, and Shearer in particular, whenever he can.

Berbatov is not a Newcastle fan ROFL. He is a fan of Alan Shearer. Roy Keane was my favourite player, but I still god damn hated Man Utd...

Please find the interview in which he said 'I'm a Newcastle United fan', rather than just some random made up story from ForForToo.com.

You are utterly disillusioned if you think that at this moment in time players are more attracted by an offer from Newcastle than from Tottenham.

Cool first person on my ignore list after 2 personal petty remarks.

Sorry but running round when he was younger with a Newcastle top with his own name on it sounds like a fan to me.

Spurs 9/4 To Gatecrash Top Four

SPURS 9/4 TO GATECRASH TOP FOUR....With Martin Jol suggesting Spurs are capable of finishing in the top four of the Premiership this season, William Hill are quoting them at odds of 9/4 to do so - and 1/3 not to.Hills also make Spurs 6/4 to finish above London rivals Arsenal, but 1/ 2 to fail to do so.
However, Spurs are 11/8 favourites in Hill's 'Without the Big 4' market, for which they also offer 5/1 Newcastle; 8/1 Everton; Villa; 12 Portsmouth; Blackburn; 16 West Ham; 20 Sunderland; 25 Bolton, Man City; Reading; 33 Middlesbro; 66 Birmingham; Fulham; Wigan; 80 Derby.
SPURS are 66/1 fifth favourites to win the Premiershiptitle with Hills who make Man U 11/8 favourites with Chelsea 6/4; Liverpool 5/1; Arsenal 10/1.

Some tempting odds there, and goes to show that the bookies are with me on the summation of Spurs being the best of the rest by a fair margin. Still a way off with the odds of winning the Prem but the odds suggest they feel Spurs are nearly there with regard to making it a Big 5.

I'd agree with that. Spurs are almost in no mans land. Just as far behind the Top 4 as they are in front of the chasing pack.

I mean apart from Newcastle, who's a big danger? Do Everton have anywhere near the strength in depth Spurs have? Bolton? Man City? Blackburn? All decent sides and capable of beating Spurs on their day but a couple of injuries to key players and they're really struggling.

Arsenal and Liverpool are still a cut above Spurs. Gerrard, Carragher, Torres are class acts. RvP, Fabregas and Gallas similar story. If they keep these key players fit then Spurs will be choking on their dust :(

I find this amusing people saying Newcastle are a massive, mega club.

How are they any bigger than Aston Villa? Stadium wise yes, i'm talking about success over the years and period of time in the top flight not the squad depth, quality etc.

Aston Villa and Everton on purely success are bigger clubs than Newcastle.

I don't think this thread is about the size of a club but more to do with the potential of the 10th-5th place clubs breaking the top 4's strangle hold.

Neither Villa or Everton have any chance of crashing the top 4, Newcastle have an amazingly small chance and Spurs have a reasonable chance if they have a great season and Arsenal struggle, thats where the difference lies.

Um... didn't Everton break the top 4s stranglehold just a few years ago? They're still a solid team, finishing high fairly consistently and with one of the strongest defences in the league. I'd say they have as good a chance as Spurs of breaking it again.

davestar, the team that dropped out of the top4 that year were Liverpool because they put all their eggs in the Champions League basket. Everton have certainly got some great players but one or two injurys to Arteta or Johnson and your performances will dry up. Depth is something Everton do not possess and over a course of a season their form will fluctuate as a matter of course.

This is reflected in the odds that the bookies give, 8-1 to finish 5th are quite tempting odds but I can't see the top 5 being broken.
