Well, what have Spurs won POST premiership and champions league?

Please enlighten us.
Even though during this period it's one of Spurs lowest in their history and highest in Newcastle's history.... still more than Newcastle!!!!! :p :D :D

I like Newcastle and Newcastle fans. :) Howay the lads!! Anyone fancy a bottle of Newcastle Ale? But seriously, I do like them and I know plenty of Newcastle fans I can joke around with and they do the same with me.

Actually you're wrong. I love the way Newcastle used to play football, especially under Keegan.... the loon of the toon :D

Hmmm, work with a geordie and he's mad Newcastle. He's cool, infact most are and probably all are in the pub. Internet forums seem to bring the very worst out in you lot more than most though for some reason.

I think its safe to say internet forums bring out the worst in any hobbie/interest/discussion sometimes.

Every team has their flaming fanboys trolling the net spamming :p

All i can do is agree that Newcastle and Spurs have good potential in the following season

I was under the impression everyone bar Middlesbrough liked Newcastle?
Me too, i would want Newcastle to win any final (shame they can't get to any ;) ) unless it was against Liverpool obviously.

As much as I like them, they're easy to like as a 2nd team, there's something amusing about such an obviously big club having won $@%& all for something like 500 years... go on admit it :D

Of course its that :D. Its that British thing of supporting the under-dog.

I believe it all stems from their 96/97(?) season where they finished 2nd but played the best football in the league by attacking constantly with the motto 'We'll score more than you'. I'd say it wasn't too dissimilar from the style Man Utd played last season.

I like Newcastle fans! My dad is one. I just love their optimism season after season :p
Indeed, it's very much the blind leading the blind every season :). I think big things will happen over the next 5 years for them though,

Can't believe they were 12 points clear at one point and blew it. The 4-3 vs Liverpool that year is undoubtedly the best EPL game there's been; not just the drama but the standard of attacking football that year, possibly the best attacking sides in the league that year (don't think you can usually say that there have been 2 better attacking sides, than Utd, in an EPL year, but that was 1).

Scary thing is, the other 4-3 is probably the second best :).
And befitting of this thread, Man Utd's 5-3 comeback over Spurs is also up there for me.

The 2nd 4-3 only had the drama not the football to go with it, we battered them then tried our best to throw it away in the last 10, only for Robbie to save us.

We have given the premiership some entertaining stuff...

those few seasons with Keegan was awesome time... as a wee kiddo its what made me find football as a good sport :)

i remember listening to the 4-3 game on the radio... lol, was epic.

Its a shame we got nothing for our efforts... and yeh i agree that man utd last season was like how we came 2nd... just score a shed load of goals. thats why probably man utd were actually liked last year... i enjoyed watching man utd last season more than any other team...probably more than watching newcastle because i knew there was no pressure or stress involved :p

But those days are gone... after we done nothing since bobby got us a bit light headed at 3rd...

Surely sam can do something, sam and the whole new regime going on.. i think surely this year more than most a sense of optimism is justified

Granted we have been poor the past few years but that was down to Fatfred dodgy dealings. We showen what we can do with good managers like KK and Bobby with our money and pulling power. Even spurs superstriker has stated in the past that he would love to ply for Newcastle in the number 9 shirt

I love watching those types of games, the ones were you are not really attached to either team and you can just enjoy the game without swearing or throwing something across the room.

But nobody is going to remember Newcastle for coming 2nd though, are they?

And there performances over the last 10 years (especially as the last 5 years they've done nothing) isn't a real method of judging how they will perform next year.
