Any tips or advice regarding Cannock?

Nah, there's nothing hard there and if perhaps there is something you are not comfortable on, there's always a way around it (i.e: another route around said obstacle etc).

I mean, when I was there on Sunday, there was a kid riding it on a ROADBIKE!

Great, just didnt fancy killing myself on the family holidays.

really looking forward to it now, rode Dalby red route 2 weeks ago and enjoyed that so this is something different.

What's dalby red like? I'm going camping with the girlfriend in a few weeks and don't know if its too much for her. She likes it rough ;) but struggles with rough technical climbs.

She was fine at Llandgen for example as most of the climbing is on forest road.

Also is there two short reds which can be joined? The map looks a mess :p

Cheers

I have re-used them in the past too.
Oh yeah :O i didnt realise hope had reuseable fittings.
I'v only ever had hayes/shimano/avid which all have compression olives which deform into shape and cant (shouldnt :P) be reused.

On the topic of brakes: do 29ers need bigger rotors? (and gear ratios as well?)

Start at the beginning.... ;) :p

My only real advice is take it easy if you're on your own because some parts can **** you up if you don't get them right. Specifically the black sections of the Monkey Trail.

What is it with me and disc brakes? The rear caliper on my first set exploded, then the reservoir on the front lever started pishing dot4 all over the place so I ordered some Formula Oro Puros direct from Formula which never turned up, needed a set quickly so ordered some XT M775's which turned up this morning, took me hours trying to prize the grips off because Shimano are too stupid to use 2 bolt clamps! Then when I do get it fitted the hoses are about 3 feet too long, which would be fine on most brakes but not on these, now I have to order new bloody olives, barbs and a bleeding kit.

Shimano brakes should come with new fittings. The one's I've fitted did and never even had to bleed them after refitting either.

If it was CRC chances are it's grey market so that might explain it....sure my saints came with them when I bought from CRC years ago.

On another note. It's all fun and games when you're trying to bleed a front juicy 3 using the syringe on the right(rear) brake level.....felt like a fanny but it was 5.15 and was rushing to get ready to finish :( WHY WONT IT MOVE :S:S:S:S Ah....................:(

Edit two: I hate juicy 3/5s!

The people who do not want to do this bit, do not have to, they can just go straight past it on the red run.
