right.. I think I'll stick with the 721s . I was looking at the atomlab Gi but they are about 700g per rim whcih is ridiculous. a guy from another forum said if I get a set it would work out cheaper :D

what do you think?

Just had the rear wheel off my Trance back from the LBS as the freehub was full of muck (it's whisper quiet and buttery smooth now).

I noticed that's a got a ding / flat spot in it but it's not as big as that SgtTupac. Rim is an XM319. Or it might be a XM321 (I can't remember which rims are on which hubs).

So I finally ordered my new bike. I originally wanted the Giant Terrago Disc 2007 for £325 as it was the best spec for any bike under £400 anywhere on the web. It turns out they didn't have it available, but they'd still debited my account for the full amount.

2 days of trying to get through on the customer service line finally yielded me some results. I'm now getting a Giant Terrago Disc Spring 2007 for the fantastic price of £350!!! That's £75 off RRP!

Always a Top-Seller, the Terrago Disc is an Excellent Bike at a Price that just has other manufacturers pulling their hair out. A New Paintjob & Sticker Set for 2007 make it look a bit serious, but don't be fooled - this bike is designed for fun! It features the Awesome Fluid-Formed AluxX Frame with Suntour XCR 100mm Travel Forks (with Lockout), 27-Speed Shimano Deore Front & Rear Mechs, a SRAM PG950 Cassette, TruVativ IsoFlow Cranks and the Excellent Giant MPH 3 Hydraulic Disc Brakes for Optimal Braking in All Conditions.

Fork: Suntour XCR, 100mm Travel w/Lockout
Cranks: TruVativ IsoFlow, 22/32/44T

Pedals: Steel w/Resin Body
Front Derailleur: Shimano Deore
Rear Derailleur: Shimano Deore
Shifters: Shimano Deore 27-Speed
Cassette: SRAM PG950, 11-34T
Chain: Shimano HG73
Hubs: Formula Disc
Rims: LM Aluminium
Tyres: Kenda 26x1.95"
Brakes: Giant MPH 3 Hydraulic Disc Brakes
Brake Levers: Giant MPH 3 Hydraulic
Handlebar: Giant Comp Aluminium Riser
Stem: Giant Comp Aluminium
Saddle: Giant
Seat Post: Giant Comp Aluminium
Sizes: 14", 17", 19", 21" or 23"

As far as I can tell, the spec is second to none in this price bracket. The next step up would be a Claud Butler Cape Wrath or a GT Avalanche 2.0, both of which are over £400 everywhere.

Pictures when she arrives. :D

I got my GT avalanche 2.0 for £380 and i prefer it to the terago, as that was what i was choosing between.

The giant is nice but i think Gts look mean(overbuilt?) and when assembling them at work they seem pretty solid! AFAIK the giant xtc weighed a tonne compared to any the Gt's i have worked on.

My budget was already stretched at £325, then I went up to £350 for the Spring 07 Terrago.

The GTs do look absolutely awesome I agree, but if I really wanted a GT it would have had to be the Avalanche 3.0 at £300, which is inferior to the Terrago in almost every way. There was no way I was going to be able to afford the 2.0 at ~£400. :o

Finally got my downhill bike how I want it :)

very nice mate. Are you running tubeless with the 823's? If so how do you find the highrollers? Ive only ran comp16s tubeless but might give high rollers a whirl so i need some new rubber

I saw some really nice iron horse frames in Merlin in preston. I reckon i'm gonna upgrade my merlin malt 4 for an iron horse bike in a year or two.

Im running tubes, I dont own a compressor so I decided tubeless would be too much hassel with all the warnings about it not being worth it without a compressor to get them pumped up!

i tried to take a pic but my webcam sucks :D

SO hes a previously taken pic.

avalance 3.0

Rides nice, only little prob is it catches a bit changing to the lowest gear set, so ill twiddle the changer about.

Okay after my previous post regarding forks i'm now thinking that i should get a new bike and sell the current one for around £250? (Giant Terrago disk 06)
Think of spending £800 on a new Hard tail; recommendations please?
Was looking at a Giant XTC 2.5 so what do you guys think?
