Give the fat ******** a month and their fitness would have increased sevenfold, not to mention the health and environmental benefits that come with it.

haha.

IIRC the max median cycle commute is 6 miles each way.

But onto more interesting things. Due to peer pressure I'm getting the RP23 pushed for the Blur.

Thanks for posting this. I've also decided to have a go at a PDA GPS and I've just bought one from ebay that has GPS build in. What software do you run on the Dell? Can you upload GPX files and do turn by turn navigation?

I use memory map as I already had lots of maps for it on the pc and it's got a dedicated pocket pc version. I tend to just plan out the route on the pc version first and copy it across. However the maps are expensive so if I was starting from scratch now I'd use MOBAC version 1.8 to create map files and pic a piece of software that it could output to.

Sounded painful going by the noise the guy was making

Probably winded him really badly... I still chuckled till I realised he might be hurt bad :o

All this talk of electric and road bikes has made me sad, so I bought some new lights :D

Just booked the Cwmcarn uplift for the 30th, haven't been for a while so it should be good :)
My goal is to properly clear all the big jumps this time. Apart from the quarry gap! On headcam ofc.

Anyone got any good tips for making sure a bike survives being kept outdoors without a shed?

Logic would dictate I need to cover it, but I've got two bikes and chain them together, anyone recommend any good covers that will fit over both?

Halfords do a bikehut double bike cover. Its not great keeping then outside due to the cables that operate gears/brakes being steel so they end up seizing up. Same goes for the chain.

At the very least make sure you cover it once dry and keep it lubricated.

Okay so I finally decided on a bike and put a deposit on the specialized Stumpjumper fsr comp, it's the 2011 model, got it for £1600, near enough same spec as the 2012, but a lot cheaper, should be fine for my road/ off road use. Will post pics soon, once received :)

Got no choice sadly, flat is way too small to store it indoors so i've just got to make do.

Will check out the halfords one and make sure i pick up a nice big bottle of chain oil, cheers.

Aye we used to store them out the back when I was a bit younger.

If it's getting used regularly enough to brake any rust build up it should be fine. It's the bikes I see every other week that are left outside for 11 months of the year and they want to go cycling one day.

If a bike is essential and it's short trips then get a folding bike is ideal but they are £400+ for a decent one. Something like a dahon speed D7.
