Aye we used to store them out the back when I was a bit younger.

If it's getting used regularly enough to brake any rust build up it should be fine. It's the bikes I see every other week that are left outside for 11 months of the year and they want to go cycling one day.

If a bike is essential and it's short trips then get a folding bike is ideal but they are £400+ for a decent one. Something like a dahon speed D7.

It hopefully will be used on a daily basis for both commute and recreation at the weekend. My current cheap bike is being used 3/4 days a week, but I did only start cycling last month so i'm hoping this doesn't turn out to be a fad!

I do a 4 mile commute every day, but I'd also like to be able to take the bike 'anywhere', so a folding bike isn't really what i'm after.

These lights of your itchyballs, are they for commuting ... or actual night riding?
I'm assuming actual night riding in the woods would require lights to be much brighter than commuting lights.

Reason I ask is because a few workmates do a regular Wednesday night ride and I'd like to join them, so I'm looking into some light options myself.

Been looking into these, as Ive only heard good things on SDH about the deals on dealextreme

Might take a few weeks to get to me, but I'm in no hurry

it's getting hammered presumably. The AM 6 is currently listed as €100 cheaper than 2011 and uses shimano instead of sram

The AM6 is cheaper but the spec is worse than last year, the lack of a FIT damper in the fork is a big loss plus the low end cranks. The AM7 has a slightly worse spec overall (better brakes, worse wheels) but is a similar price to last years model.

I am going to be using them for commuting and night rides, also got one of these on order XML T6 which will go on the bars and the Ay-Up will be helmet mounted.

Yeah, it's pretty poor, especially for such a big online retailer.

They just sent me an e-mail anyway:

"We are sorry to hear that your wheels have arrived without being assembled. We understand this has caused some inconvenience. To prevent any further hassle we would ask that you bring them to a reputable bike shop to have the wheels built.

We will of course ask that you send us pictures of the items being sent not built and a cost for having the wheels build locally. However if you have already returned the wheels to CRC we will aim to have the built ASAP and hopefully with you for Saturday.
"

Nice of them to offer to reimburse for having a local builder assemble them, I've already sent the parts back to them this morning, so hopefully i'll get my wheels returned to me fully built pretty sharpish.
Further to this, according to the parcel tracking the package was delivered and signed for on Thursday last week.

Contacted them today to get an update, and they are now claiming that there is no record of the parts being returned on my account... getting fed up, all I want is wheels for my build. And I'm again waiting for someone to get back to me. Imagine it'll be me getting in touch with them again, before anyone there bothers to pick up the phone.

In other news, I decided I need a new hardtail, so I've got one of these on the way, will *fingers crossed* get to pick it up next week.

The only working bike I have right now is a 04' Cannondale Chase II, which being a DJ bike doesn't cut it for me at the moment, and with me ordering a new bike, i'm going to donate it to my soon to be 13 y/old nephew for his birthday. He's always liked it, and he's been starting to get into biking so hopefully he'll enjoy it.
