Yes, think we're trying Llandudno dry slope. Was up in Milton Keynes Sno!Zone on Monday and had a full day on it.. LOVED it! Looking to book a boarding holiday soon.

Awesome backflip!

Come a bit further a try Manchester's Chill FactorE. Real snow!

I have just nipped into town to buy some LED lights for the bike. Ended up with some wilkos specials for £12.

Off for a ride through woods tonight. See how fun that is.

Edit: and nipped to JEJames for some gloves and a drinks holder. Could just do with a bag now but not paying silly prices i have been looking at for them.

I started night riding a few years ago with a cheap smart halogen set and it wasn't all that much fun. For the last couple of years I've used a pair (one on bar, one on head) of cheap dealextreme LED lights and it's far better. The XML6 ones are really cheap at £28 quid each and do a very good job.

Had a weekend trying out a friends Demo 8, only had time to do a quick run around haldon forest (blue trial!) as the miss's isnt that confident on a bike to do anything downhilly, she fell off the bike on a burm trying to lean it over!

It was a nice bike, setup for my weight, felt pretty smooth and took some big hits pretty well, but damn its a heavy bike, was hard work trying to peddle over anything that wasnt flat or downhill. Still it was a nice bike just a shame I don't like the black/red look of the frame, looks bulky!

Which year?
One of my riding mates' Demo 8 is 34LBS.

Regardless, the Demo doesn;t pedal well regardless. Besides, who wants to be pedalling a DH bike over long flat stuff anyways? :D

Here's his : http://www.southerndownhill.com/forum/index.php/topic,239189.90.html
34 with Air, 35 with coil.

That's light you woofter!

About 4lbs lighter than my Ellsworth!

'sides, it's not really the weight that makes dh bikes horrible at everything but downhill- it's the tyres. If I stuck my supertackies on a racy XC bike it'd be almost as horrible to ride up a mountain. But with lightweight non-tractor tyres my old SX Trail climbed like a goat. Then crashed all the way back down the hill :D

I climb on my 34lb Tracer2 with just a bit more effort. MTFU TBH :p

My trail bike weighs about that with its coil shock in and climbs just fine thanks ;) Like I say, it's not just about weight. My hardtail usually climbs like a rocket but stick on the swampthings and it climbs slower than the big bike does with normal tyres. And everything climbs badly with fat dualply supertackies and dh tubes. Feels like trying to pedal a motorbike :D

If you want a laugh, try and get along to fort william for the endurance downhill- great day's racing but also, at the start everyone has to ride or push up from the carpark up to the wallride. It's only about 2 miles but on fat bikes in full armour, under race conditions, it's horrible. And very, very funny.

haha. I'm not much better on my 22lb Blur either. :o

It does look like great fun. :D
