cool, i think it took me about 6months to pass, but i was doing 1 hour lessons, did 22 in total.

haha, how did you know about my almera being in a hedge?

Bolger sent me a pic mate.

Hmmm 22 lessons,i think im at like 16 hours in the car. I practically get in and drive for two hours and do turn in the roads, left reverse, parralel park and hill starts easy as pie. Just brushing up on when and when not to signal and using mirrors all the time.

ahhh.....him

yeah, i was getting the turn on the road wrong the hour before i sat my test...then the examinor took me to carluke...to roads i didnt know for my test, still passed though :) think my brother passed on 15 lessons, or so he keeps telling me.

but anyways. you should give us a shout when you pass your test/finish your bighit.

Well the only thing i find kinda hard is the left reverse as i cant really see what the instructor is saying i should see! I do as much as i can and listen to what she says and can get them bang on if i think what im doing. I had to do all of the usual stuff in the ******* rain on monday! up in motherwell. :(

You got msn or that?

I should finish the bighit soon as i just need to take my bits to gear in glagsow to get my wheel built and some chainrings bolts and im rolling.

maybe its cos you have a female instructor, you actually cant see what she says you're supposed to cos you're not looking? :p

aye, bolger should give you my msn, i'll ask him for yours.

Haha shes pretty good, can have a good laugh. Its a 5 door astra and basically she says as soon as the kerb disappears out the back window and into the corner of the rear door window starts to turn and watch for distance then straighten the wheel once i can see my distance from the kerb n ****.

mad_jonny at the hotmail.com is my msn.

I havent ridden the pushed shock.....as i said its not finished. Upon the sitting on it test it feels like it has a slower rebound and compression without having any on but i will see how it rides once its finished.

got my dhx5 PUSHed, made it much more responsive to small hits and feels more controlled under heavy hits. Before i could bottom out my shock relatively easily with the bottom out control on about 1/2. Now it is more responsive and i havent bottomed my shock since getting it back and the bottom out control is wound off completely now. Really glad i got it gone :)

Have you ridden a pushed RC? Only difference is the boost valve thing but i imagine the dhx and rc feel quite different, well my mates dxh felt supppppper plush but that could be down to his bike.

What pedals are they? They look nice and big, just what I need :D

Yeh dx mx30s £45 online or £50 in shops. Thats them with the long pins in as the short ones couldnt tickles a dugs arse.

They arent really that much bigger than a V8 i think,i'll go take a pic for comparison. I would say they are more in the V12 pricerange though.

Edit:

V8 and dx side by side. That V8 is only a month or so old! Doesnt help when i take corners like im racing a superbike. :o

hey all wondering if you can help, bought a bike bout a week ago and my front disc brake recently started squeaky really loudly if I go at a walking pace or slightly faster, it's alright if I'm going fast fast. Anyone know how to fix this? Cheers.

yeah all the time now, was quite mild before but now it's just irritating, thought it might be to do with the pads breaking in but surely it should get better overt time, not worse?

Is it a one or two piston hyraulic or a mechanical caliper?

If its a mechanical you may want to unscrew the bolt to the right side of the caliper to bring the pad away from the rotor(if its evident that it is touching the rotor). If its a single pistong hydraulic then the same applies but for two piston hydraulics then you should reallign the caliper and make sure you dont have a lazy piston that isnt returning to its bore properly.

Please god dont say its a halfords special or a shockwave.

hehe no :p The brakes are Avid Juicy 3s, I'll take a look at the manual to see how to sort out the caliper, cheers man.

no sorry, only ridden a standard RC.

The right hand bolt on my top crown, that clamps it to the stanchion tube has stripped the threads and is now making a nastry creaking sound as that side isnt tight. Should be able to get it rethreaded easy enough???

Um you should be able to rethread the crown easily enough of buy another crown if your minted lol. A guy came into my work with every bolt on his boxxers non standard...looked mad!

The juicy 3s SHOULD be easy to allign just by undoing the two bolts that the caliper is held on by and squezing the lever and doing the bolts up again. Sometimes its not as simple as that though and you have to do it by eye.

Loosen the bolts, push the caliper hard against its mounts (as if the bolts were holding it tight), squeeze the lever, let go of the cliper and tighten the bolts while still squeezing the lever. That should see it back to normal.

K I did what you said monkeypants and when I put it back on and freewheeled the front wheel it was stopping prematurely cos the pad was scraping so did it again and now it's fixed. The squeeking is gone and the front wheel spins for a long time. Cheers. Here's hoping it don't come back anytime soon.

Not the greatest pic in the world due to my son locking his Claude Butler to my bike before peeing off to his mates taking his key with him.Only used for the commute to work so far and a 3 mile ride through the local country park.

So far i have to say this bike is a massive improvement on my 6 year old Kona.So much lighter and the gearing is way better.
