Funnily enough it's not.
A mate of mine rides a large commencal Supreme DH (09 green one) and he thought the bike suits him just fine on it (he's about 6 footish) The Makulu is actually a long bike, and the difference bew=tween the large and small (there is no medium) is so little, we couldnt tell just by looking at it, that the Yellow one is bigger, we had to measure the top tube so see the tiny difference!

Must be the pic/ colour making it look so much smaller

I tried fixed and hated it, despite living in the fixed, hipster capital of the world.
I can imagine there's a lot of love/hate with fixed gear. All i know is that i've enjoyed cycling a lot more since i moved to this bike, although i will admit, my other bike for comparison is a mid range hybrid (Spec Globe Sport), and was basically a workhorse of a bike. If i get a proper geared road racer (which i may get in the near future) i might love my fixed less.

Sorry for spamming, but I'm still so deliriously stoked on my Makulu, here's another pic - you lot are gonna gt sick of this bike!

The Makulu Brohers in my backyard (Small White = Mine / Large Yellow - a Mate's)

edit: Yes 6th, I realise we have the bikes wrong way around, we just built up my mate's bike and were amped to go riding, so all rational thought went out the window

edit 2 The headangles look a tad steep for a DH bike, but keep in mind that the bike is run at a recommended 40% (!!) sag (2:1 leverage ratio) and slackens out a helluva lot with me on top of it

You missed "rad" out of your post somewhere ;) :D

Fixed the post for ya in edit 3, keep in mind though I have used some of the expletive terminilogy before most here were in high school, seing as I have moved in/grew up in other "exreme sports circles" for many years now - so it's not a fad I just talk like that ;) :(

Supercow, I can never get sick of seeing your Makulu! It looks great. Prefer it in white with the extra white touches like the forks, seat, grips and pedals. Different forks on those two? Any reason for using different ones?

I see that the rear brake lines are positioned diferently too. Yours seems to be slightly twisted?

Cheers mate :)
The reason why my mate is running other forks, is only because BOS is brand new to the MTB market (does Rally and MX mostly) and are nutoriously meticulate/particular/anal and even tempremental etc when it comes to suspension performance, to the detriment of deadlines and prices.

To that effect there are very very little forks in production, and only a handful or so people have it , I happen to be one of those as I have ordered my Makulu, yonks ago (comes with the Makulu fame kit). If my mate wanted to get the kit, he would have needed to wait months for more to be available, so he just thought naff that he's just gonna get the Fox 40's.

Brakes - think it's just the tubing cable that might be cable tied differebtly, but should be the same. Speaking of which... i really need to sort my cables out, havent gotten around to snipping the cables and re-bleeding the brakes yet

Well, I've just pressed the trigger on buying a new bike in an effort to get back in to MTB'ing.
It's an '09 Specialized Pitch Comp, so not as flash or expensive as some of the bikes in here but I'm sure I'll get a few pictures. :)

Cracking bike for the money! Where from?

eBay :) Was about to bid on one the night after that I'd been watching for a week, it ended up going for over £1k lol I hit buy it now on the one I got about 2 minutes after it came up, I was so lucky, it was within a 30 min train journey from me too :) I had bought the bike and had it home within 12 hours, fastest eBay turn around ever!

Went and picked up my Soul :D Got some funny looks in the shop picking up a frame in motorbike kit, got some even funnier looks strapping it to the back then riding home from glasgow to edinburgh :p 2 wheels good...

Got the Scandal stripped and the Soul about 50% built up, it has wheels and brakes but no gears... Got my new bars and stem fitted as well. Should finish it up tomorrow and hopefully christen it at glentress or drumlanrig at the weekend. Also threw some more paint onto my retro/commuter, it gets yellower by the day.

Northwind, that is fantastic! Haha, brought a smile to myself :D

Andelusion, there have been a few decent bargins on eBay lately. Most have been too far from me though. Would prefer to pick one up too instead of getting it posted.
