I like my Cateye Strada Wireless, it just works everytime, even after I put it through the washing machine :D

Came down like a sack of poop yesterday and ended my riding session abruptly. My handlebar is as bent as a Politicians expense claim! (thought of that one all by myself)

My Nukeproof Warhead bar - not so nuke proof

How you like the new red bling - I think it looks rather tasty

ps: i know I need to sort my brake cables :p

Supercow - Liking the new bar, you should get some red pedals to match :)
Any injuries from the crash?

Stinging a bit

But I have bruises all ovr my left side of my body.
My upper thigh has one massive bump in it and deep below you can see the blue starting to come through :p

Think the handlebar poked my in the thigh, however I'm not entirely sure what happened

The things we do for fun :/

I'm looking at getting 661 Pressure Suit for DH runs.
Anyone got experience of wearing these? I already have Evo knee and elbow pads but would like protection for my back and shoulder.

I can recommend the Rockgardn flakjacket, mines very comfortable, I have even taken to wearing it on XC rides also, mainly because when I am finished failing on the 4x and dual slalom courses I cant be bothered to go and stow it in my car. It breaths very well, infact I cant really tell its on, unless I have my camel back on as then I get it tangled both at the put on and take off stage otherwise perfect, heck I even wear my goggles and full face too but maybe I am just weird. I wear my suit over my clothes, since I have ape like arms but a small torso I had to go for the large.

Just in from my first run round glentress's black run... Quite surprised I could do it all tbh, I'm fitter than I think apparently. Though it does help to do it on an 11 kilo bike I guess! I am now officially destroyed. What a great route though, it's nicely worn out round a lot of it so it feels much less built than the red, for a lot of it. Deliverance in particular just made me think of a really kickass XC route instead of a trail centre route. Couldn't face the wormhole though  Maybe if I'd been on a full suss instead of a 5" hardtail, I dunno, it just looks nuts. Brilliant day out though, really helped by my mate Chris, who will never read this but who basically makes this possible for me, he is everything which is good about mountain bike riders to me

The boardman team model was reviewed in this months MBR and didn't fair to well for its excellent spec over the other 1k budget bounces it just couldn't compete on the ride.

Boardman won the MBUK, or possibly MBUK, test by miles though- I think it was a different spec but same frame, not sure. I'd take them over MBR any day tbh.

Action shot from my 12 hour enduro. I am still pooped! I was in a team so didnt ride all night. Managed 6 laps so 46miles. Last lap was at 5.00am.

Bike needs some tlc now as my gearing has gone to poop.

My first enduro, was a blast! Next time im going as a solo team, not a team of 4. Only 3 of my laps counted unfortuantly, So has to do a few unoficial ones........Time to sleep now

Hi guys.

Not 100% sure this is the right place to post this, but im after some advice. Im looking at buying a Hardtail MTB, and have pretty much narrowed down my selection to either the Boardman Comp (£700) or the Specialized Rockhopper Comp (£685). On paper, the Boardman looks pretty good (Juicy 3 brakes, SRAM X7/X5 components, good tyres, Rockshox Recon fork). I went to view one and the frame fitted well, and its a pretty light bike at a shade under 26lbs. Heres a link to the Boardman's specs:

http://www.halfords.com/webapp/wcs/...uctId_502089_langId_-1_categoryId_165499#dtab

Im going to a local shop tomorrow to try and get a better feel for the Rockhopper, but would appreciate the input of some more experienced riders. I have a 10% off voucher for Evans, which i guess makes the Rockhopper a bit cheaper, although i would prefer to buy locally for convienience (nearest Evans is a fair distance away). At the moment im leaning towards the Boardman, simply because their bikes are well reviewed, well spec'd and it seemed to fit well. As far as i can see, the only problem with the Boardman bike is that it comes from Halfords, which could be a curse or a blessing!

I do have a few other quick questions that are not all that related, but more about bikes in general...

1. Could you recommend a good semi-slick tyre/set of tyres for either the Rockhopper or the Boardman, to be used for road and light trail riding?

2. Halfords can supply the Boardman as a kit... I have never built a bike before, but would quite like to, if only for the experience and to get to know the ins and outs of a bike should anything go wrong. Is it difficult, and is it something i should avoid doing?

Cheers, sorry for the long post, but any advice is appreciated.

Hopefully got some sick pics today :)

Felt like a pro, doing berms over and over again to get a good shot nailed for mtbracephotos.co.uk . Really hoping for some good ones.

There is one berm in which you turn so sharply, but have no need to be on the brakes at all, which mean that you can get so freaking low it's unreal. Had one super super low leaning into the berm shot - but the flash didn't go off, so im hoping the natural light was enough :(

ps: a crap quality pic of a kid that was doing the photo session with us... made me laugh so very hard ;)
