Around 43 miles in total?

Should be a good ride. Mostly roads, it shouldn't take ages to complete. Depending on conditions anyway. Let hope you dont have a head wind :p

Any reason for doing the route?
 
hey guys, ive just bled my juicy brakes, and they are perfect, but what do i do with the fluid in the syringes? put it back in the fluid bottle, or dispose and how. quickish reply appreciated.
 
Any fresh fluid left (top) back in the container, old fluid (bottom) into a different container and down to the recycling center. Although, you can probably reuse it all.
 
I would just get rid of it. You've got some fresh stuff left for another bleed yes?

What are you bleeding your brakes at this time anyway on a Friday night? :p
 
Been to Cannock today, was a complete cockup of a trip, but the riding was fun at least, if a bit knackering in this heat :o

I got all the way to Rugely (70 miles, best part of 1:30 journey..) and realised I'd left my pants, my t-shirt and all the padding out of my helmet at home :rolleyes:

I was 'forced' into spending a fortune on a jersey and some shorts :D

yea ive got 2 8oz bottles of 5.1 avid fluid, and as for bleeding them tonight, forgot to do them in the week and were going out for a weekend blast so needed them done asap lol

Mate wanted to go to Hay, I thought I might aswell do some cycling so decided to take my bike had my mind set on it and then found out the train from Hereford isn't running so we have to go from Newport!

Weather should be good so looking forward to it - carrying a bag full of stuff unfortunately as we're camping overnight on saturday.

So , looks like I'll be doing :

7 miles saturday morning (6AM!) to Paddington station
20 miles saturday 12:00 Hereford > Hay
40 miles sunday Hay > Newport
7 miles sunday night (around midnight) Paddington > home

Then up early on Monday for work :p

Got lots of glucose tabs packed as well, in case my sugar drops !
 
I recently bought a Specialized FSR xc, and I'm absolutely loving it so far:D My last bike was a rigid Orange Clockwork (circa 1995), and boy what a difference suspension makes!

A quick question for all you knowledgeable people - I've just noticed tonight that the rear wheel is making a grinding noise when it spins. I've removed the wheel and spun it, just to eliminate any other possible causes, and it still happens. I can only assume it's the hub (Specialized own-brand).

Is the hub ****ed, or can it be fixed? The bike is still under warranty, but I was planning to go to Kielder tomorrow to try the Deadwater trail, and would rather not have to wait to get it repaired/replaced. I'll be ringing the LBS it was purchased from tomorrow.

Anyway, since this is the bike pics thread, here it is. Apologies in advance for not conforming to any official photo guide! ;)

By top and bottom I meant lever end and caliper end, standard bleeding is downwards as far as im aware, although obviously you can do it either way.

I dunno, Avid say to push the fluid from the caliper up to the lever, which makes sense to me, as the air will try to go to the highest point, so that should be the last point bled.

exactly, every vid ive seen regarding bleeding has the caliper first then push through to the lever, then bleed the lever..
