I think everyone have thier bike covered from the house insurance. Its best to pay the little extra and get cover at / away from home.

I had the bike cover added to our policy for nothing :) Covered upto £1000 if stolen at or away from the house. £1000 is alright to cover a Dawes Oxide. When I get a new one, I will be getting it increased. I think an excess fee would be needed though.

This is what happened when the chain decided to let go, snapping one side off a link off and twisting the whole thing... nearly sending me over the bars...

Could have been worse. When I totalled my XT rm a couple of months ago a trip to the closest bike shop for repairs ended up with my pal buying a new new bike!

Go figure. lol

Haha, Im not that bad.

New cassette should be here soon then hopefully everything will be working again :)

To be fair the KHE is a kevlar bead and therefor a lot lighter. The kevlar FAF is £33.

I only payed £36 for the pair when I got mine!

meh.. i dont really care about saving weight... :) dont see a point tbh.. im not 8 years old to see a difference between 13kg and 13.1kg ;) but seriously whats up with the prices.. :/ i mean they are up like 5quid+ :/

I meant in comparison to the wire bead, rotating mass is very noticeable. Kevlar bead FAF and KHE are very similar in weight and price.

Prices are crazy, I hope I don't need a replacement any time soon.

Is that another WTB seat, same as the one on the Marin above? I had one very similar to it when I got my bike. Its not very comfortable at all. Changed it to a Charge Spoon. Its much much better.

My 2006 Avalanche still has the WTB saddle, albeit very worn and cracked, but will be replaced soon with a white Charge Spoon.

Could anyone recommend some shoes & pedals for a mixture of on & off road use? Don't really like the idea of clip in ones at all...

Lots of traffic in London in last few days, lots of stop and starting clipping in and out  some days wish I didn't have SPD-SLs :p

At least its not raining though and lots of sunshine, arriving in the office dripping in sweat.

I had a lady from a courier company pop into the office the other day in the morning, we had a 30 minute meeting , I was wearing shorts + tshirt dripping with sweat and with no shoes on :o need to make sure I make a note of people coming around in the calendar so I'm prepared!
