I'm going to say the Fox then, I much prefer my Floats to the Revs I had before them. Do you really need travel adjust? I had it on my last forks, but just never used it. Same for poploc.

Poploc didn't interest me to much, but I thought having the travel adjust would be a benefit even if used rarely. But the ability to drop the travel on uphills may help me a lot as I do struggle with the climbs!

its not really fair to compare my Fox to RS because, The Fox is a much more bigger and stronger fork, The action I find is smoother/plush and terms of strength they are much stronger and less flexi, but then they do have 160mm Travel, 36mm stantions, 20mm axel and 1.5 tapered steerer.

Travel adjust can be handy for really steep hills, however I use it more to make it easier to get the bike in the back of the car.

Yeah I understand that your talas forks are RC2's so a different league to the revs but ive never ridden a rock shox fork, so this is my main reason for questions a little skeptical of how they perform compared to a fox :p

The damping is a lot beter in the Fox forks than any Rev.
I have the 426 air Uturn 2008 - damping is awfull, and now I have an oil leak. only 1.5 years old too, my opinion is the Talas. Plus there lighter!

I'd definitely go Fox after my current fork, however I'd think carefully about whether you really need or will use travel adjust. From what I've read in reviews and also been told seperately by a friend of mine who is a bike rep, the performance of the talas is nowhere near as good as the float due to having to accomodate the travel adjust feature. Have a read around, see what you think.

I've also read that the performance of the floats are better than the talas.

This is one thing that RS seems to do well- both my old Psylo's and my current Revelations are u-turn and they work great.

I'd agree with poster above though that if price is no option I'd go for Fox over RS, especially as they are lighter. Out of interest, what prices are you being offered?

Was that on the reallly rocky section? Must have been a fun roll back to the hub tbh :D

It was somewhere on the Goat track :(

Didn't get many pictures from my trip, too busy riding and braking things. :o

The Gully Monster. A lot more tricky than it looks here. Fun but scary in places.

Well I put my money down on the Talas! paid £399 and the Revs where at £350 price matched to CRC.

So cant wait for wednesday now!!

Did you consider the Shova? Would've thought it would have made a better second bike to the Makulu

I have, but the Mbuzi will do it all.
Rode a 30lbs one, climbs like a squirrel and goes down like an Essex girl.

Supercrow, whats the Mbuzi like? Looks pretty awesome, is it for freeride? Where do you buy them from?

It's my 'xc' bike.
It climbs on par with the likes of a Heckler but descends like a short travel dh bike.

Got it at an insane price too, not really allowed to say from where I'm afraid.
rrp on it is 1350 ish, got it for 695 brand new :)

Worked out super well for me, because I got an SX trail, steel and Ti spring, fox 36 forks and a ethirteen LG1 for 450 in total. I have now sold the SX and chainguide for 500, sold the Ti spring for 50.

This means theoretically I paid £145 for the new Mbuzi frame and fox fork.

Not bad wheeling and dealing hey!
