I find its pretty much an allrounder it weights in at 28lbs is quick on the single track around Dalby and still has enough travel to take the big hits, I am going to replace the vanillas with some Revelations which should knock a few grams off!

Sounds good to me

Definitely leaning towards a Heckler or a Blur LT if I can afford it.

Im think Fox Talas 36's and an RP23 rear. Havent decided on the wheels yet, but think I will go with the XTR F&R mechs, crankset and brakes at least. Maybe go for some Hope hubs on DT Swiss 5.1's.

Vanilla's are spring, Rev's are air; so will be lighter.

ah right, I was thinking of the rev spring u-turn which i've got. are all new rev's air sprung?

Is there much of a difference in weight between the rev and vanilla? seems like quite an expensive 'upgrade'

Depending on fork options there is just under 1lb difference

Plus i cant get the spring to be right for my weight, just cant get enough movement even in the lightest spring im too weak!

That makes a lot more sense then. I was in a similar position as the standard spring on the my Revelation was too firm, luckily the soft one works fine, although it was a £40 gamble

What would people go for out of

Rock Shox Revelation 426 Air U-Turn Forks 2009

Fox 32 Talas RLC - Suspension Forks - 2009

My LBS has a good deal on both these at the moment so what's the opinions? I was set on the revelations but the talas has thrown a spanner in the works

Depends on weight, cost and axle options. Probably the Rev though.

cost is no concern, they are both QR as that is what my axle is.

Revs Weight 2kg
Talas Weight 1.7kg

I thought Revelations where around 1.7k - 1.8k depending on model, for some reason I think you have hope pro II hubs and they can be converted to 15mm/20mm with a kit.

I've got rev's on my hardtail I cant really say a bad word about them tbh not had a single problem.

Nah I have an XC hub and its never had any issues so dont really want to go swapping it, I got the weights of the respective sites for the models I was looking at.

What do you prefer then your revs or your talas?
