There are no Trek, Giant, Specialized in the last year's range at that price in organe ..... i think

Right guys, I still need a lock. Anyone care to recommend one of these from this list?

p.s. Breamy, what lock(s) did they go through when they took yours and your mate's bikes?

Nah not a GT ;)

Neil.

I have the MX comp 2006.. where can i get the anodised red caps for the air valves. The pic on chain reaction had them but i recieved them they had plastic ones :(

Any help much appreciated!

the lock they cut wasnt on that list it was quite an old one tghat they dont make anymore but was a gold rated lock. i have a kryponite new york d-lock thing about £60 then a cable thing to lock the wheels to it. meant to be the best combination

That was going to be my next suggestion, one of the NY d-locks and a cable.

Then i am getting a Kryptonite Evolution and another Kryptonite cable lock then, use the cable to lock the back wheel to the frame and the D lock to lock the front wheel with frame to the object.

£90 for a lock

Well I guess its worth it really, even having a couple if your bike its worth over £1000.

Having to get a new lock my self. Something I can wrap around the seat post.

Know the best thing I can get for around £30 mark?

I would get that chain lock, i mean i can justify the price as I haven't seen found any report of the net of that lock being broken. Some people have managed to cut through it with a blow torch but that takes 15 mins and it create a hell of a mess. Except it weights 9Ibs......that's 2 x 2 litres of coke, a lot of weight to carry around.

Besides, i've insured my bike so i can get another one if it does get nicked (not that i want to !)

So i am going to get this lock i think.

Good balance between price, security, weight.

And it's approved on my lock list, actually more than i need :)

SC have a 2 year warranty, the Heckler was 2 years 10 months old when she died.

My guess is that it's a fatigue break (one side of of the break is darker than the other) has gone at a weld right behind the pivot bracket (removed in second set of pics), so I unless I stripped the frame I was never going to see the break when inspectiing the frame. The last hard thing I did on the bike was a short DH section and a 3foot drop. In a way I was lucky the break happened 50feet away from home.

You know if I get larger discs for my Dawes Oxide 05, is it a lot of messing around with the hydraulics to set them to a larger disc?

Would I have to get any other brackets or what not to space out the hydraulic mech away from the fork if you get me.

I say its not worth it if you are only doing light riding around town.

Yea, ok.

Was just thinking to see how things do on in the first 6 weeks or so. Service is due first week in october to check everything over.

Probs will get some better tyre's, as these are the same ones I had on my Alpina and they got worn very quick.

I know what you mean by wanting better stuff, I want better brakes too. Saw some Hope brakes today, they are £134 just for the front one, front and back won't give me much change from £300.

I am going to only upgrade things when they brake, not because i want to now.
