You are mad !!! But Respect ! that is some ride, nice one. :)

I am doing a 60 mile bike ride next sunday for charity with a few guys from work, cant wait to do it.

Gonna order some stuff for my bike, new tyres, inner tubes, bar ends, padded shorts.

I just took the Enduro out for a spin. Did two laps of cwmcarn, and a play on the DH course.

This is one awesome bike :D

Ill stick up another pic soon!

Got a 2005 Trek 7300FX, will sort out a pic soon. Much as I'd like some of the tasty carbon goodness on display in this thread, I couldn't really justify that sort of serious dosh on a first bike (especially as it was only going to be for commuting originally).

I've already got a bit of the bug though - found the bike a bit heavy at first, but ditching the Bontrager 700x35 chunky efforts for a pair of Ultra Gatorskin 700x28 made a huge difference - much more than I'd expected tbh. Gone from struggling on the middle gears to finding it a breeze to ride, possibly even finding the top gearing a bit too low... hmm - maybe I should start looking at a new groupset

Also binned the cheap and nasty wellgo pedals for a set of DMR V8s as I'm still not 100% sure about going clipless :p

A bit old-school, but this has done me ok for 8 years or so:

Just ordered a Kikapu Deluxe in the sales though. My body is getting a bit squishy so I thought my bike should do the same :o

Anybody got any thoughts or feedback on the Kona?

I rented out a Kona Caldera yesterday as it was all all that was left at the Hub. It's not really designed for the black diamond route at Glentress :o. I did the red route on a 1999 FSR comp, A lot better a bike. Not the same as a Heckler though. :o

Pictures to come soon.

Doing DH on a hardtail after your SC can't be good.

Did the fsr have the BETD plates and was it black and white?

Just bck from asda, spy'd a set of giant MPH brakes.......saw xtc on the frame........saw the curvy joins........saw it was the composite frame  nice bike!

It's a stock Silver and yellow FSR.

MPH brakes = Old Hope C2's IIRC. Still better than the Hayes 9 on the Caldera though.

Th Glentress black diamond route is an XC course BTW. ;)

This is my old Orange C16R which I bought around 1996, and is still going strong. Seeing some of the gorgeous bikes in this thread inspired me to start riding again for the first time in six years (plus the fact I'm starting to get a bit of a gut:().

The pic was taken on the red trail at Hamsterley Forest, I was completely knackered when I finished! I'm also going to quit smoking, so hopefully I'll be able to afford a new bike with the money saved (the Giant Reign 2 is looking like a good buy at the moment).

Anyone know when the new 2007 Models are out?

I'm after a Specialized Rockhopper Pro Disc 2006 Model and am waiting for the price to come down from £849

Some places are already selling them cheap now, and the new ones are schedule for launch offically in the first week in September ! This week !

oooh, I got a new saddle this week as the WTB was killing my bum.

A Specialized one, had a ride on it today, very nice. My bum don't hurt anymore, plus it is like 30% lighter as well.

ok so i majorly scared myself today flying down hills and through the air on the stinky

anyone here use a full face helmet ? what should i be looking at for good value/quality

i must say the bike feels well light when riding it considering its a struggle lifting it of the floor stood next to it lol

Try the helmet before buying it. I HATED my mates 661 full comp or full bravo........guess it reflects the price. Upon trying on a giro remedy in glasgow it was sooooooooo ****ing comfy and felt perfect for my mad shaped head.

Any protection gives you a boost in confidence aswell.Takes away a bit of the "what if?" aspect of stuff.

Depends on your budgest but you can get most helmets in a carbon version which basically means its a lot lighters as its the foam inside the shell that does the protecting it doesnt matter too much as to what the shell is made of ,be it polycarbonate or carbon.
