Several crashes today when I was out riding in the Stewart Buffer Zone in Orange County \o/

Caused by a combination of skill (lack of), conditions, (if was ******* it down), equipment (tires weren't really suitable for the terrain).

Sore knee is the worst of the knocks. Then just to annoy me my frame rubbed up against another on the bike rack on the way back and left a 2cm bare spot on the chain stay :(

Uh WTF is the point in that! It shows the picture n all! :o

yeah, thats the standard 6bolt though :( thing that annoys me is, hope make bigun's which are dh hubs.. they make 6ti which are dh brakes...(both of which i use) why dont they make foating rotors to match?

i emailed hope a few days ago asking after someone on here sugested it. not got a reply yet though

Dont talk ****! :p

The brakes are good but not for downhill(was defo nines and not soles you had???) i was riding my brothers stinky with C2's and the pump up is a PITA if your ragin it.

Yes they were Nine's and they were rubbish. No modulation and heavy on the hands. Horrible brakes for anything with more than a slight gradient.

Will be but this week proving all the bits for the frame turn up!

Starting in January 07 proving the new rules are sorted this will be the frame i shall ride for the world starting off in Japan!

Steering lock with triple crown forks looks like it would be a **** and what length bottom bracket is it gonna take to clear the rear?

Wescott, what bike are you looking at to replace your rip Santa Cruz ?

looking to get the Heckler fixed. There is a long list of repairs / upgrades.

first: new front triangle (TBC)
next week: rear wheel rebuilt, Mavic 317 is mangled / Hope XC hub needs new bearings. Being rebuilt with a DT Swiss EX5.1 rim. Hope Mini being rebuilt with new pistons and seals.
Soon: New forks (Blacks are leaking oil and grease and very very worn). Something with c140mm travel would be ideal.

I only recently got new Raceface Evolve XC chainset, PC991 chain, XT cassete, and not long before that new Raceface Atlas bars and Hope Stem.

I'm getting a shot of an older style Transition Preston FR on Wednesday to tide me by.

You can fix that frame with it split in 2 pieces? With all those repairs, sounds like it could be cheaper getting a new bike wouldn't it?

Crash replacement new front triangle is 200
New forks at the cheapest are 200 more like 400 for what I would like.
new rim 45
new bearings 10
pistons 16
seals ??
labour 40+++

Brand new bike of the spec I have now 2500

Either way it will be darn expensive; but alas it's the way with mountain biking.

ouch, I feel you pain.

I do wonder will the frame be reliable after the repairs or will that joint be the weak point in the frame still.

LMAO only way back in the early 90's did trials bike run tripple crowns and that was some crazy Spanish fools ideas Ot Pi...it soon past!

Single crown forks, it's not a sus frame a trials frame, the new and latest concept. Trials frames no logner have seta and have goten lower in stack height thus adidng bigger moves so making them mono makes them smaller, lighter!

BB shell is 115mm wide and run a 100x148mm FSA DH bb and uses the Leeson Bike style of fitment, interferncec fit and is held in place buttwo snap rings as the BB it's self has no thread on there, it's mahcined down to fit in the shell. Then once all built a sa frame the bb is held in with loctigt 406!

Tmororw it goes and gets water cut out of the H30 alloy then gets it's treatment then get built soon as my carbonfiber has cured in the oven!

Ah i thought for a second it would be trials with the size of it. My bad.I also neglected to realise the "swingarm" is above the BB so its not the full width as i thirst thought.

I cant go back to a full hardtail, took a customers bike out the back to test it and it was horrific.I thought i was gonna die.....

That's more like you got used to driving a Porche and then go back to a Ford escort. :D

Hmmm sounds about right. I probably wouldnt sniff at riding a 4 grand carbon roadbike or an XTC composite with some nice forks but NOT a full rigid. :)

This frame http://www.pinkbike.com/photo/504780/ but with shorter junior T's that things like a garden rake.

Heres my mates new bike for good measure.
