Single speed will be easy to get used to,would be different if it was a fixie. I'd rather have a slighlty too small big that a bike that's too big, I hate when a bike feels too long!

That's what the guys in the shop said, so I went with there expert opinion. I'm looking forward to it to be honest, it'll be used near enough every day.

I need a multi-tool now, any recommendations?

That looks pretty good for the money, looks quite well made.

I just run with a park tool allen key set, chain tool, leeches, tyre levers and a spaer tube in my saddle bag. Lock, crank bro pump and a park 8mm allen wrench in my bagpack. Basically I prefer the indivual proper tools than small wannabe ones found on multi tools.

does anyone find when you put your front wheel in your forks, they dont sit smack bang in the middle, i had the wheels checked and they are true and not out of shape, i just cant work it out, the actual wheel when tightened up seems to sit a little more to the right, so when you look down from the bars it never looks right. Taking a picture wont happen as it never noticable, but it is when you look in person.

While i remember, any tips for getting the stem straight aswell, im forever tinkering with it, i think because my wheel never seems to be in the middle.

i meant dished, its a commencal combi-disc with marzocchi mx pro's with avid juicy 3's, wheels are mavic crossrides.

im guessing by your short response its probably not going to be normal for it to happen.

Could be the forks. I had an issue with my Hope pro3 hub and Revelation Uturn. The wheel would only staighten up when the quick release was "tight" very tight. Put the fork in a jig and found that the forks were bent. hardly noticable, since then Ive updated my Revs to 2010's.

everything looks fine, nothing looks out of place or bent, forks were brand new 7 month ago and i havent dropped the bike on my rides or done any jumping (far too heavy for that anyway lol)

I've not tried it with a disc braked wheel, but if you flipped the wheel you'd see if it suddenly switched offset.

Do you have another wheel/riding friends wheel you could try in place of yours?

ok, i did the above, took the disc off, fliped the wheel around and it actually sat straight, i.e equal distance from the rim to the fork inside edge, so i flipped it back round and it was straight again till i tightened the QR, then it went off again..

also any tips for getting the head steam straight, always appears to be off centre no matter what i do.

DONT look at it with one eye. look with both and use your judgement. I found when looking with one eye I slowly went crazy after one hour of trying.

ahh thats where ive gone wrong, arghh lol i try it with both and see how i get on with that...still working out the wheel situation bugging the heck out of me.

yea theres a groove on these and the QR ends sit in it perfectly fine, if i let the left side drop down a little it will make the wheel straight, do you know what i mean, would it be safe like that if i tighten it up real tight?

would it be safe like that if i tighten it up real tight?
It most likely would be fine because if it comes loose and slips its just going to go back up into the groove.

I wouldn't recommend riding it tho. Your forks or steerer tube could be bent or cracked and break suddenly. Get it checked out at your local bike shop.

ok np, ill pop down to the lbs and get them to check it out, its probably something so trivial, but better safe than sorry.

Edit/ Please i hope someone reads this new edit, as i dont want to clutter this thread too much, But if i put the wheel in the forks normally, Without tightening the QR it sits normal, but as soon as i tighten the QR to any degree it starts to pull it off centre...what would that be?
