My new bike.

Just bagged myself a carrera fury 2008 model for £200 on ebay, only been around the block on it but already loving it.
Not bad for 200 notes.
Stuck some lizard skins lock on grips on it.

Rock shock tora 318 uturn forks.
Tektro auriga comp disc brakes 180/160.
Sram x7 rear, x5 front mechs.
Sram x5 shifters.

Build finished (ignore the pedals):

Getting my Mojo back after a few months off :D
Hit Bracknell/The lookout/Swinley forrest today hard for the second time in 2 weeks (2nd time back on the bike) and I was pinning it. Riding the XC bits at least at half decent pace and going like the clappers down the descents. Very very stoked atm, but the ankle is sore, but not in a bad way... just kinda numb and a wee bit tired.

Be back on the big bike saddle soon, bring on the summer/uplift days!

Good aren't they? :) Looks in much better nick than mine, although I do use mine daily. How much has it been used?

Just ordered my new mountain bike, KHS XC-604.
Time to say sod the pain from this MS malarky and get out and enjoy my self esp since we got my lad a Hotrock for christmas.

Not heard of that KHS, but spec looks good and Bikeradar seemed to love it! Looks great.

Nice one.

Thats one of the things that swung it for me, the reviews came out very well.
Bargin price as well, £699 instead of £899.
Steve @ KHS is brilliant, been emailing for a while about stuff and he's been great in answering all questions.
Asked on STW about KHS and no one had a bad word to say about em.

Pics to follow when it arrives as long as snow doesnt stop delivery truck getting to work.

Not a happy chappy at present, following my escapade on the bike a week or so ago, i totally forgot to clean the bike :(, lets just say the chain and rear cassette are in a bad state of rust, and seemingly i have rust marks on the disc's from where the pads have been :( also some of the paint seemingly has flaked off, im guessing there were slight chips or scuffs and the snow+salt/grit has eaten it off.

Cleaning the bike was the last thing on my mind after my little off :) i am now suffering for it.

Speaking of rusty rotors, what's the best way to sort these out? My bike spent a summer outside under a bike cover, but the water still got in and the outside rim of the rotors and some of the 'spokes' have surface rust showing.

New discs are £25 a pop so would prefer to try other methods first. Any ideas?
