Because the calipers have been removed and then repositioned on a new frame (in relation to the rotor), then the orientation/centering of the pad to the rotor will now have changed and they will need to rebed, even though they're used pads. Get some speed up and give them some hard braking and they should bed back in quick enough.
I've just bagged some disc brake cleaner from Halfords anyway, gonna give them a good scrub then put in some miles to see if that improves things.

Check out one of the new 2010 Giro Xen colours - just ordered :)

Had a good day at FOD yesterday! Didnt quite get the result i wanted, but times were tight and it was a track i aint ridden before. Didnt realise id been riding with a broken toe, which i managed to do Saturday at my local track! :(

Got a new seat about a month ago and it was nice out today so I gave my Cube a bit of a clean.

I haven't taken any decent pics of it with my DSLR so here are a few!

Got some new new flat pedals coming for it tomorrow as I've had enough of clips for the moment!

The styling of that helmet is very 80's. You are getting worse from that 1990's bike you were looking at the other week ichobod crane.

Wow, that is a great looking bike. I pretty much love all cube bikes tho. Never seen their all-mountain style bike before tho. Thought the only cube full susser was the xc race kinda one.

p.s. love that 661 helmet, the colour and designs remind me of ski/snowboard clothing.

I think that's definitely the best looking 661 Evolution for this year, this one is a bit shocking

Very 80s! Here's hoping the 2009 ones drop even more, they're already pretty much a steal at £70 imo, would quite like to pick up the poo brown/green one or either of the white designs.

Gutted, one of the races I wanted to do this year sold out all 300 places within 12 hours of registration opening at midnight. When I went to register at lunchtime I was too late :(

I grabbed the White 661 Evo Legend last August for £70 so current prices aren't that amazing.
Decent lid though :)

Would it be worth grabbing a full face and using it to ride to and from trails, or would that be a bit stupid...i dont know what it is about the "skull" ones, they make me uneasy looking at them thinking what i could do to my face if i stacked it on ice or something on the road on the way to the trail.

It's up to you really, why does anyone wear helmets? To stay safe, it certainly wouldn't hurt you to wear as much protection as you could at all times, it just depends what you think an acceptable risk is. I wear my helmet with the chin guard (met parachute) on all the time, yes it's not a proper full face but I'd rather not take the risk.

Personally though the hassle of carrying around an extra helmet would be a pain.. just get a decent full face and wear it all the time if you want to be properly protected. All the time you're on the bike I mean :D

Thats what i thought, as ive just started getting serious with my riding i thought it was best to start wearing one, as before i was just messing around and not going for speed and complex stuff, so i think now is a good time to find one with the new '10 stuff coming in 08-09 should be down in price.

That's an interesting view. What makes you think that? Im not trying to say your wrong or anything - i've just always trail riding more dangerous than the road there and back. I always wear a helmet whatever i'm doing on my bike but i see road riding as the safest type of cycling i do.

(p.s. i only wear my full-face for downhill and it's very different from other helmets. They are a lot heavier. Breathing is a little harder (even with vents in the chin bit). They make your head very hot. You have to take it off to eat or drink anything. I'm pretty sure i couldnt handle a long road/xc ride in a full-face.)

Yea i know that sounds a bit strange, what i meant was using a FF helmet for riding to the trails and then using it on the trail without a second one in my pack, road cycling around here is pretty touch and go and with my last crash im still a little shook up even if i was caused by the ice we had, could say its given me a new sense of saftey. So basically the FF would be for pretty much all the riding i do, which i seem to be trying new stuff everytime i ride. Probably a 661 Evo

ahh, ok i see now.
One of my mates has that 661 evo in brown/green and it's a good looking helmet. It's also a lot lighter than my helmet (661 strike).

As i said, i wouldnt wear my full face for xc/road mainly due to the heat of it and having to take it off to take a drink. It's down to personal preference tho, i've seen plenty people wearing them at trail centres etc. Have you considered a met parachute? - It's half way. Not as strong as a proper full face, but more protection than a normal helmet (also only 15 quid more than the evo at CRC)

In the end, its down to what you feel comfortable with. If you think the risk is large enough to outweigh the drawbacks, you might want to wear a full face.

Drinking wont be a problem, ive got one of the camelbak things with a drinking tube attachment, heat may be a problem but for that little bit of piece of mind, that my head and face will be slightly more safer when (note the when lol) i ditch it, will be going to the place where Steve Peat used to hone his skills (about 40 miles from me give or take) a couple of quarry trails and various other intermediate stuff, so i think ill get the use out of it
