Since i first saw the socom i wanted one but i would hazard a guess and say the uzzi would be better suited to me. Whack a set of 66's or totems on it and it would be awesome

Not a fan of that SC. "Plenty of tyre clearance" doesnt look a lot to me

You might have a point there. The new Heckler doesn't seem to have the S-Bend chainstays of the old (grumbles) Heckler, making mud clearance worse.

The new Heckler is definitely a Freeride bike now. 170mm forks :|

Longer forks are going on everything these day but i will say that the headtube looks........meaty.

THIS is tyre clearance.

Nice bike mate, how much was it and how light is it?

The bike was £1100 and it weighs 29lbs

Not bad at all really.

Wish i could afford to buy a brand new bike outright,my cash tends to flow in bit by bit.

For lightweight i would get X0 shifter and mech, carbon bar and stem, sdg bellair titanium saddle, tubeless wheelset and maybe an Xtr chainset with carbon chainrings(if possible).

I like the Cow paint job :p at 29lbs you have scope for reducing weight in the future. What wheelset is it?
Cow paint - pfffft :p

Rims : Mavic X117 Disc

At the moment Mountain biking is something I'm just getting back into. If I enjoy it this year then I might buy some upgrades next year :)

That is a great bike to get back into mountainbiking with. Good Job! :)

Jonny ///M : Carbon chainrings are best on DH rigs where there is less shifting as the weave strength on CF is directionaly proportionate.

True, i remember my Specialized CF handlebars at 113g. They would bend every time I applied the front brake    things have come a long way though. Wait for the demise of triple clamp forks. :p

Oversized "proper" bars for the win. :D

I'm actually thinking that my 31.8 RaceFace Atlas bars are overkill for my needs. I only weigh 12 stone and only do the very occasional DH.

Well i dunno if its a placebo but i would much rather have too much than too little.

Since i bent the steel bars on my very first bike i didnt enjoy standard bars. :(
