I guess they think there is no market for a FR/Mini DH bike in UK! But with a company that has so many variations of each bike they must have some overlap between models and so could pick and choose which they market to each country.

The Enduro is no way a replacement to the SX :p

Shame really though as the 2011 SX is probably one of the best looking bike specialized do.

You just described a bike with yellow forks as the best looking.

You really do have a problem don't you? :D

Any one please reccomend a good bike for about 250 max cant go over, I would be using the bike to get to work and home ride on the road/path and sometimes may go onto rougher ground if out with mates etc.

I agree with Suoercow and weescott; The Enduro Evo is enough for UK non competition DH riding.
Brendon has finished in the top 10 on the Megavalanche riding the 160mm travel S-Works Enduro.

I've also done the DH course at Fort William on my Enduro SL (150mm) and it didn't feel like it was holding me back.

Opinions please - 15mm or 20mm axle?

I'm going to start gathering bits for my new build, first stop is some 2011 Revelation Ti's. Is there a noticeable difference between the two axles in performance and weight?

I'm 6'4 and 15 stone so is 20mm the way forward?

Have you chosen a frame? Im guessing a 15mm is lighter but I run a 20mm maxle on my lyriks and to be honest its not that heavy and they are really stiff!

hehe, well the budget is whatever I can talk myself into using from the money I've been saving to pay off my student loan from many years ago.

£1500 is the absolute max for the frame. I've got most of the rest of the bits on my current bike which will do for now, I just need forks (Rev's) and new wheels (Hope Pro 2 on rims of some sort...)

Do your worst!

I would start with...

Orange Alpine 160mm (better than 5 but still ugly)
Intense Tracer 2
Morewood Sukuma (when released)
Mondraker Dune
Santa Cruz Butcher
Nukeproof Mega (Buy 2)
Transition Covert
Yeti 575

15mm hubs are an inbetween size that don't really make much of a difference from regular QR. The fork you use probably makes as much of a difference TBH.

If you get a Heckler. Get at least 140mm up front. 130mm doesn't really work.

I've pondered most of those at one point, and a few others.

My logic is that I'm coming from a hardtail, and have always ridden hardtails since 1995. I like the idea of my first full suspension being simple, therefore a single-pivot frame makes sense. I don't want to complicate things with virtual four-bar linkeage driven this that and the other, I'd prefer to save all that for a later date once I've had time to get used to the idea of riding through/over stuff and not around it :D

Travel-wise, I'd more or less settled on trail-bike 5" or thereabouts but the Heckler is winning the race mainly due to the price. I'm going to demo a few different bikes hopefully before I part with any cash though.

Giant Reign X
I looked long and hard at this frame actually, still a possible outside contender.

I'd run the Rev's at 150mm
