I want a bash-guard. I have a history of ripping my trousers/jeans on the crankset/chainset.

Light and reflectors are now off. Think I'll leave the back one on for now though!

EDIT:

Took it all off, bell included. :p

I'm not sure on the names Supercrow. I mean something to cover the cogs with the pedals attached as in the past where I've been riding, my jeans have caught said cogs and been ripped apart.

Small question though: bare in mind that I haven't ridden a bike in a very long time now, and the last I did was a borrowed frame too small for me; when sat on the bike and holding the handlebars, I almost feel at full stretch. Is this something for concern? Standing over the frame, I've got a good 3" clearance, but when sat down on the saddal, I feel as though I'm stretching just a tiny bit too much. Does this mean I need a smaller stem?

EDIT:

Just rolled around as much as I could whilst on it and it feels far more comfortable when moving. Also adjusted the saddal which helped a lot. Yes, point and laugh at the noob! :p

How will a bash-guard stop you from ripping your jeans on your crankset?!

Stops your jeans getting caught on the big ring. I've ripped my long cycling trousers so many times getting on the Rockhopper when I'm used to the bashguard on the Giant.

Don't worry, you'll get used to the terminology soon :)

You are looking for something that covers the chainrings (not cogs), which are attached the right crank :D
I'm not convinced that a bashguard (usually a piece of plastic below the chainring to stop you hitting the ground/root/rock and bending the chainring) will do the job.

Some bashguards are round an goes over the top as well, but as I said – I don’t think you get those for triple chainrings as I have never seen any. They might exist, but it’s doubtful.

Why would you ride with jeans anyway, get some decent riding shorts 

What about when it's really cold? :o

I'd be tempted to wait on the auction ending, as he's advertised it poorly and hasnt included any wording of his own as such.

problem is hes new to ebay so if for example it sells at 250 he will probably just refund him and vanish

£400 is a good price for it if its in as good condition as it looks ,theres also the risk someone else buys it first

offer him £350:p
