And it was you that told me about that damn stuff. I've used so much on my missus... oh wait the Epic.

'nice and slippery'

I got back from a 2.5 hour ride tonight at 7pm. Front forks felt a little 'wooden' (SID RLT 2011) realised that im only getting 80mm travel from 120mm. let all air out and huge amount of fluid / oil came out of the negative air chamber. Just booked a TF tuned service for Monday 6th.
Reason why im saying this, mate of mine is doing the 'GAP' route and I want to join him. what do you reckon? will it damage the forks even more? Service will cost £97.00, I live close so not an issue there.

Sooooo... what does everyone have planned for the weekends riding?

I took 3.5 minutes off my evening route after changing tyres over. The RR on the rear feels nice and grippy too coming from the Speed King.

I've started MTB'ing again (I did a lot in my teens) as part of my fitness drive to help lose the last 15 years of accumulated blubber. And I must admit I forgot how ace it was. I'm really enjoy getting out with the wind in my helmet and have even been to Cannock on the Monkey Trail, which ended with me going flying over the handlebars when I lost control over some bumpy bits due to knackardness! One new helmet later, I'm back on and still peddling.

Anyway enough of my lard arse tales, I have a question for you experts. I've obviously got my bike set up incorrectly for my height / weight because after no more than 4/5 miles on the bike I lose feeling in my hands and have to keep stretching them out to get the feeling back. This makes it difficult to do more than 12/15 miles without getting really fatigued in the arms. What should I be trying to adjust to help myself out?

Any advice appreciated. :)

It could be a few things from handlebar position, rigid forks, cheap handlebars, not using gloves, too thin handlebar grips, stem length, poor brakes, poor technique....

What bike do you ride, what size is it and what's your height?

A sneaky ride at Cannock if my back is better. If not, nothing :(

I rode my bike to work and back Tuesday and Wednesday.

No fricking punctures!

Did exchange nasty words with some **** in a Focus on the way in on Tuesday though.

Anyone order hand built wheels from Merlin, i hear there about as good as it gets, decent price as well.

I bought some cheap wheels they had on offer a while ago, they're fine, and have stayed perfectly true and tensioned.

Me, andelunchion, kona, matt_fsr and purplehead are heading up to glentress for another dirty weekend :)

enjoy gents. Missus is still being very ignorant of my biking needs and was supposed to give birth on saturday (that was her due date), however she is still hanging in there!!

Enjoy yourselves:D
