I do see where your coming from, start with a good basis and work up. I will be doing all sorts of riding. Mostly, I want a bike that can take some abuse tbh.

I guess the Boardman's frame isn't as good as a Spesh Pitch one?

I don't know anything about the boardman, I do however know the pitch is a brilliant bike and there is good reason they are sold out everywhere.

I've seen very DH orientated pitch builds, and also very xc ones. It's light, fun, seemingly bombproof, agressive, well priced... The list goes on

Do some more reading about the bike before getting the boardman

I have, its availible online plus my local store said they could source one from another store for me as they only had the team in medium in stock.

The boardman team model was reviewed in this months MBR and didn't fair to well for its excellent spec over the other 1k budget bounces it just couldn't compete on the ride.

"..but with its pedalling oriented suspension and lack of stifness it never really feels inspiring or promotes confidence on rougher stuff and downhills. The old school feel hammered home just how much the other bikes have come on in the last few years and the Boardman is not fullfiling its potential yet as a true go andywhere machine."

I think if I could justify £1000 on a bike right now I'd get a Pitch.

My bike just after a service before a 12 hour enduro on Saturday, getting giddy with excitement.

Newest edition are the Hope Hoops (front) Hope Pro 3 gun metal with DT swiss XR4.20 rims.
Atleast the bike is getting alittle lighter now, just need to get a new Bottom bracket as the LX hollowtech2 is dead. Hopes any good? or any other recommendations?

Edit - Guess what one thing i need to do to it before its ridable? winner gets a prize :)

Love that S-Works! Not seen that posted in this thread before, if you have I missed it :p

How did it set you back if you done mind me asking?

Also, you didn't set the pedals and gearing in the correct position for photo's to be posted in here, according to 6thElement anyway :D

The thing you missed before you start riding, a chainstay?

:) thanks!
Ive posted all my bikes, 3 in total. 1st being my old GT, then Kinises maxlight then my spesh. Quite funny when I look back in the space of 2 years.

Urgh that question - My wife would honestly kill me!! Its a work in progress replacing items when they need too. Im riding a lot at the moment so its all wearing out fast. Frame was £400 - Bargin from Ebay, just needed new bearings at Xmas. Around the 1.5 K mark if you had to buy it now on Chain Reaction for example.

Regarding the position of the gearing... I noticed when I was posting. I will be sure to post a "action" pic on Sunday / Monday when the ride is finished.

Hehe so many guess's, Chain stay protector needed to be put on.

Have cycled 100km this week (Rugby to Leamington and back twice to work), my bottom is sore. Coming home today was the closest I've come to running out of gas. My legs didn't seem to have anything, especially on the hills. Glad I've done it, it's been really enjoyable and I've been very awake at work. Not sure I could do it every day in the near future, but I might try 3 times next week. My trusty Ridgeback has been the business, although I do wish I was using a drop handlebar bike.

Can anyone recommend a good cycle computer?
