you think maybe 180s would be a better option?
ive got a 180 on the front and im more than happy with the way its setup its just the 160 on the rear feels (hard to describe) underpowered, even after its been setup by the local BS

Majority of your braking should be done through the front wheel anyway. I wouldnt mess about changing your rotors, save the money and put it towards some upgraded brakes in the future. £30-40 on a new rotor and mount is 1/3 towards a whole new set of hydraulics.

im doing some mixes of dh/fr (beginner) and xc, for dh i rarely use the front brakes. picked up mount adaptor and rotor for £18 (superstar rotor), will see how they fair.
a guy at work who races dh has a spare set of avid ultimates that he'd be willing to let me have for a snip but that would be overkill on my hard tail.
im mostly working on fitness before i decide to upgrade to a full susser

I'm looking at replacing the Specialized E150 forks on my Enduro SL to something smoother and with damping that lasts longer than a couple of months.

I’m currently drawn towards a Rockshox Lyrik solo air with 170mm travel.

Anything else worth looking at?
My only criteria is at least 160mm travel and weight under 2.3kg.

Fox 36 Float. Talas if you need the travel adjust. Or if you can hold on the new 180mm Fox 36 should be out soon. It won't be cheap though!

One of the guys in my LBS was saying to me today how they have had to send a load of RS forks back. Not the first time I have heard that either.

I just got some 09 Solo airs for my Mbuzi, and they are so much better than my Fox 36 vans!!

It's hard to tell from that angle.

anyone recommend me some road tyres for my MTB ?

I have a 2009 Trek 6700 that atm i use mainly to cycle too and from work i don't get much time for off road hopefully that will change over the summer.

When i had my bike serviced last week the tech told me if im mainly road cycling then i can get road slicks for my bike.

ive never owned a road bike so not to sure if i need new rims just tyres or inner tubes as well etc.

Anyone else use road tyres on there MTB ?

i really don't want a road bike :P but if it makes that much of a difference changing tyres im up for it.

You're looking for a Low-Rolling Resistance, narrow tyre if you want to do Road riding on an MTB. Something like this or this.

Or just get fitter ;)
