Right, taking about front shox, why is it that when a few mates who are diehard MTB types have seen my new Cube that they raise their eyebrows and tut-tut "Hmmm, Dart 3's"??.

Is the Dart 3 a really bad front end?.

Its just bike snobbery, the dart is by no means the best fork in the world but if it is your first MTB and your cruising the XC trails you cant go wrong with it.

A friend from work had Dart 2's and for all the negative talk it did perform well around here when we went riding usually at Dalby.

Fitted guards to the fixie today (now that it's stopped raining) and changed the tyres to Schwalbe Duranos because I'm sick of getting so many punctures.

Put the Cervelo together, but the gearing needs sorting out. Very annoying as I really wanted to get out on her tomorrow.

Tomorrow, if I get the time I'll be putting my station bike back together and then hosing them all down and lubing up for the week ahead.

Doubt I'll get it all done, having kids really screws with your maintenance schedule.

I had the same guy sneer at me when I bought my Pinarello FP1 back in 2008 because it had Tiagra fitted. Funny thing is he is the same guy who cannot stay with me on the road despite having Campy Super Record on his Bianchi. :p

That's the best way - destroy them on the road

There are tonnes of guys where I work who have £5K+ bikes just because they have money, but they are not very good cycling.

Mates law number 1 - Thou shalt ALWAYS race thou mates, even if there is no race
Mates law number 2 - Thou shalt ALWAYS mock thou mates' bike

... and so on, but I believe the latter applies in this case :)

That said though, the Dart range is the lowest end forks Roxkshox do.
I had a paid of them when I just started riding and quickly came to dislike them, for the type of riding I started to fancy then. That said, they are fit for purpose for the kind of riding you do, so I wouldnt worry about it.

Schladming world cup cancelled!
Luckily it moves to Leogang and we wont be another round short.

Never seen anything on Leogang, but after a quick youtube, it looks MINT!

Helmet cam action, but I doubt this would be the WC track

Think this will be the WC track, super tech!

so who's been riding for a while then? old girls still like to get dirty.

22.something pounds, steel, and accelerates like a stabbed rat. telepathic to ride. buy a new bike? why would i want to do that?[/QUOTE]

Yep, this is my curent steed, about erm, 15 years old now I think. It's a Fire Mountain, changed the brakes from cantilever to V-Brakes, swapped Gripshift for quickfire levers, new handlebars etc (all done in about 1999 I think!!)

That Tifosi got an excellent write up recently in Cycling+. However, the Kinesis looks scrummy.

What spec are they both, groupset etc?.

can anyone recommend some gears for a downhill build (07 big hit) ? got a bargain on the frame courtesy of ebay and since im from a bmx background i have no ideas at all on gears. sram or shimano ? road derailleur or mtb ? id go singlespeed if i easily could...so cant imagine i need anything amazing , trying to spend as less as possible but without it being total crap

I've yet to see the Tk2 in the flesh but is dark cherry, and it looks stunning in photos.

I'm not up with the roadie scene and the latest groupsets. Just looking for a bike to commute, but then when I'm back home in North Wales some nice 60 miles days, and maybe some overnight touring.

Went for a ride around Bennachie with my old MTB club. Found some super gnarly sections. I had a bad crash on one of the easier sections too. :( Coming down a fast part of path (with rocks and drainage ditch obstacles) I punctured my front wheel, went over the bars and stoped about 30ft down the trail with a bloodied leg, arm and side. Clich here for more squeemishtasticness
