Not exactly cutting edge (and a bit multi-coloured), but pretty much bomb-proof as it stands; my 2002 Kona Lava Dome which I bought new over 7 years ago:

Over and above standard it has:

- '04 Manitou Skareb Platinum forks
- FSA Orbit XL2 headset
- Easton EA50 seatpost (need a 400mm one as this is 350 and too short really and is causing my knees pain on climbs, but can't find one I want in 27.0mm dia.)
- SDG Bel Air RT saddle (hella comfy)
- Club Roost XC2 bars
- Wellgo V8 clones
- Cheapo green GT grips (a little small in diameter for my hands, but will do for now)

*Photo reminds me to pick up a new chainstay guard*

I only fitted the pedals on Thursday - didn't think too take them off at the time. I admit that they do a look a bit special needs though!

Anyone know of some good trails at and around the wrekin?

Only trail i know of starts by veering of at the hairpin that leads up to the half-way house.

Just letting my dinner settle then I'm off for a quick test ride :D So far they seem great, pretty easy to set up, and the levers feel solid which is the main reason I got them, nothing wrong with my Hayes Stokers just the levers feel a lot more solid on Hopes.

The front hose is a bit too long, I'm getting some wider bars soon (Answer Pro Taper DH) so hopefully it'll even it out a bit, if not they'll be shortened when I disassemble them if/when I get them anodized.

Ayeee I was thinking that whilst jiggling the levers around. Your cockpit is damn tidy looking with those on. Eventually.. I need more monies monies monies :p

finally managed to get my other pedal off!! Jesus some job!

Superstar pedals? Had the same problem just would not screw in and when it did only half way and then wouldnt come out! You need a long handle alan key and to put a bit of lube on the thread before screwing it in I put a drip of my chain lube sorted it out.

Well booked my bike in at Evans so they can try and rescue my rear hub (stripped bolt holes) once that's done I should be good to go again.
