just stripped down my giant reign frame as it needs new bearings fitted but also needs a respray and some general tlc, question is after a respray where can i purchase some proper Reign decals?
i've seen the Giant sticker sets you can get off the bay but was really looking for the large Reign decal

how old is the reign ? I had read somewhere that they're pretty long lasting on a reign. as for decals no idea on newer ones as the colour is sprayed around the name so all decals on mine are bare alloy with some kinda protection finish.

Talking about tyre's, is there much difference between Schwalbe Rocket Ron & Racing Ralph as a rear tyre? Could any be used as a front?
Typical all round everyday use. Need something that's quick and that can handle some mud / water when I'm on the commute via the canal.
A Racing Ralph is easily enough for canal path riding

2 and a bit hours is impressive (to me), think I was about double that :D
I was with my riding buddies so pace was very slow. We stop after each single track section for a chill out and chat. Moving time was 2 hours but total ride time was 4 hours.
My Heart Rate for the whole ride was 30 bpm below my race average so I could go quite a bit quicker (than 2 hours moving time) if riding flat out.

I've been pining for a stripped down, smoothed Raleigh Twenty running some period speed equipment. I chopped up another bike and scratch built this frame tonight:

Can anyone give me advice on winter tyres?

I've got a new winter commuter on order which has clearance for 35mm tyres under the full guards and I was thinking about getting some Schwalbe Marathon Winter 700c x 35 to run Dec -Feb when it's icy.

Anyone know If the studs extend beyond the 35mm and by how much. Also, I'm not used to running tyres below high pressure so I don't know what impact the additional deformation has on clearances.

Any advice welcome.

What you MTB'ers think of the Cube Attitude 2010, managed to nab it for £480, worth the money etc?

Most reviews say its very good for the money only downside being the not that good front fork but this gives good room for an upgrade in the future.

Good choice. The Cubes are excellent bikes. I have a 2010 Acid and can't fault it. The added bonus is the finish and paintwork on them is sublime.

need some help choosing a front mech for my project build,
so far im refurbing a 2006 Giant Reign3 and ive pretty much got the front end build sorted and have chosen a Shimano SLX double for the crankset and XT med cage rear mech but not sure on the front mech?
any ideas

also not sure on brakeset, was leaning towards avid juicy 5's but may be able to stretch to elixr's depending on how much i spend on other parts ;)

any advice welcome :)

You can get a double SLX FM. Deore front mechs are gash. XT works well. SRAM are not as good with front mechs from what I have read.

My SLX front mech is pants, constantly needs re-aligning and has never been perfect! Would never recommend one and as Weescott says SRAM fronts aren't all that either so go XT or above.

Edit - front mechs are annoying, simple answer "1 x 10 is the only way forward! You can use a chain device! Why would you use a lower gear when you can walk?!!"

Me in the middle with a few mates. The nutter on the right is riding a Raleigh Lizard which was about 17 years old!!!. And yeah, he went down the Runway free-ride section on it!!.

Carron Valley again last week at the top of the Runway, me on the left :-

hmmm, does anyone know of a decent wheel re-builder, i've just dug out an old halo combat back wheel, if memory serves the freehub went twice, ( think it was a dodgy batch ), the rims sound and true, it'd be nice to have it re-built with a more modern hub
