As mentioned in a previous post a video of yesterday's ride.

Warning!!

A couple of swear words in the music..

Great vid that...i was there myself last sunday....found it very dry and loose.

I took my go pro ....most of the vid was ruined though as i knocked the camera on the black route:( and didn't realize until the end at the lower cliffs.

love this bit though always go back and do this a few times....even though as you can see from the vid i nearly lose it on a few corners.

Nice vid! I quite often loose is on some of those pebbly sections. Evidence of this is on another of my vids :D
I don't know why but I always think the GoPro looks clearer than mine at 720p. What editing software do you use, or is that unedited?

Great videos guys!

My search for a new rear wheel is taking me in the direction of a Yellow Nuke Proof Generator....I think it would look great on my Lime Green Summer Season :D

imovie for mac .... It is unedited though.

Shame you can't get iMovie for Windows. I've used Pinnacle Studio (crap), Adobe Premiere (complicated crap), AVS (not bad but quite fiddly) and Windows Movie Maker. Movie Make is simple and works very well, it is quite limited and I think this is where I'm losing some quality, ultimately its converting .mov files into .wmv

Try Sony Vegas :)

Thinking of popping over to Carron Valley tomorrow. Looking at the trail map there only seems to be a single red route and the orange "runway" route back to the carpark.... Can anyone that's been confirm this or is there other trails up there?

I had my bike gears adjusted this week, found a decent bike shop, shame its so far from me.

Took it in and had looked over, the guy said it might perhaps need a new gear cable, said if you think so then put one on. Collected it Friday and he had adjusted it and said it was OK without a new cable, so that was refreshing he could easily have fitted a new one and charged me for it. ATR cycles near Clitheroe.

Just got back from Rivington Pike / Winter Hill this morning to watch the F1.

I did the route I had planned to do a few weeks ago when i went the wrong way. Endomondo lost signal right at the start and missed out a few miles.

Got down the descent from Winter Hill to San Marino down loose rocks and drop offs which was decent, more challenging than the Red at Llandegla.

San Marino Descent, not my video.

Got to the bottom where the above video ends and then fell off through the next garden area and really hurt my knee, right infront of some walkers. :o

Not sure what I could have done differently, just seemed to get punted off sideways on a simple section, hidden hole perhaps!

Ripped my pants and cut right into my knee sinews, plenty of blood :( Fortunately nothing else hurt apart from my pride. The walkers who turned out to be young and attractive offered their first aid kit!

Went back round and up to the Pike, saw plenty of people out on road bikes, then lots of guys all on expensive FS machines.

Never been that far north on rivington might have to give it a try.
I prefer coming down this route.

or this way for a bit more challenging route.

2 Laps of Cwmcarn XC this afternoon.

http://connect.garmin.com/activity/86839859

Lap times:
1st Lap: 54.29
2nd Lap: 59.12
So I took up the opportunity to see how my fitness compared and hit Cwmcarn today for two fast laps.

It was dry, sunny and warm so totally not the best day for a clear run as every man, women, child, dog and squirrel were out.
Anyway, avoiding the carnage on the track I didn't do too badly.

First lap
At the top of the climb I was almost 2 mins ahead (0.4miles) but then on the long fast final descent I got stuck behind a big group of riders with two girls at the back going quick but really holding me up. So I lost all my lead and another minute.

Second lap
Again a few forced stops due to riders stopping in front of me on steep climbs, or groups stopped chatting with their bikes lying across the trail

Times
1st lap : 55.25
2nd lap : 58.48
Overall : 1hr 54mins

It was fun though :) :)

The route I did was similar to the one on Andi- 's website 14th May, but shorter as I didn't go down to the reservoir.

I went up to the Tower at the end, but didn't go down the slabs route, looked a little steep on the way up and there were plenty of walkers coming up that way, so didn't want to have to try and stop for them. I just went back down the way I came on the path.

Also looked at my knee when I was up there and decided it was a bit nasty and didn't want to risk falling off again...
