Tues it is then, looking at the 2012 Canyon the spec is essentially the same for the base bike they just update the geometry to 64/65 degrees. The one with fox 40's and the CCDB will be way out of my budget :-)

Will be a good choice :)

It's the 2010 Version. The newer version has a beefier rear linkage and a longer stroke shock. I'm 5'7" and went for the small frame which feels spot on for me. :)

Been saying it for ages, but I am going to go to Gisburn tomorrow, for real this time!

Has anyone been recently, wondering if its a washout or not so bad after all the recent rain. Also £ for the car park required?

I went last weekend in the torrential rain. Got absolutely soaked and coated in mud! I enjoyed it but it would have been a lot better if it had been dry. It was very rocky and rooty in places and that combined with the rain made it very slippery so I couldn't go as fast as I wanted. The car park was free and was pretty much deserted, there did seem to be a few parents taking kids round though which was a pain on the thin parts where they'd tend to stop mid blind corner!

Just been checking out the geometry stats for the YT vs my Trek, looks like its exactly an inch bigger if I go for the large YT over my medium trek which would be ideal as I always felt a little front biased on the Trek. Like i was a bit to over the bars when seated.

You may find the cable ties end up rubbing the paint now instead of the cable.... You would be better having something on the frame as opposed to the cable.
I was thinking that too, but i pulled the zip ties tight so the neoprene overlaps the ties a little bit, bit like a fat bird with a belt under her boobs.

Can't comment on being a washout as it was very hot when I went! I think its about a fiver for parking. Take a map as its not nearly as well signposted as Llandgen. Make sure you do Hully gully!

I'll be looking for the free car park then!

Weather seems good today and when I rode yday it wasn't as bad as I expected so fingers crossed its drained well.

Got 20 miles in this morning around Pitfichie. The last 2 1/2 miles on road were heckling a dirty roadie on his Dribble bike. Gotta love the speed of the Blur. :D

Hit sherwood pines yesterday with 3 mates, perfect weather done all the red run then a coffee n home. Proper chickened out on one of the wooden bridge/ramp drop offs. The lad at the front road around it, the second lad rolled down it and when he hit the bottom his forks bottomed out hard core, I heard it and I was quite far back! then the dude infront of me looked over and said no way, then I looked over and turned around soon after :(. When I looked at it on youtube it looks like a right baby ramp, like 10 year olds flying over it with no fear.

Today me mate took me to corby trails (Northamptonshire) because he read on a forum (dont know which one) that they had a pretty kool red run. We got there, and it was empty so we had no one to ask where the red run was, we rode around the family route for a good hour bored trying to find it as there were no signs what so ever for it or mention of it. The local bike shop opened so we asked a dude there and he said its about 1/2 mile down the road across the A47 and ya cant miss it, so we found it and it was definitely good. Some nice technical parts, crazy rooty hills, nice fire roads to catch your breath on. The dude at the bike shop said it isnt even half done yet, theres going to be loads of work done on it this year hopefully and its going to have 3 runs instead of just the 1 red run.

Hoping the weather holds out next weekend and hopefully have a look at cannock for the 1st time, i've heard loads about it but never been!

Just buy some of these feller....will look a little neater too.

Ive linked to the white but the same seller also does black.

Those look quite nifty, I have some on the gear cables (put on by canyon, not me), they must have been put on when the cable was off the bike as they've been slid on from the top as there is no break in them to clip them onto a cable. Going to order some asap, thanks!

Edit: Is there a clear film/sticker protection someone could recommend aswell, I tried some lizard skin stuff (years ago mind) and it didnt stick to well on bends, just peeled within a week.
