Big ol' Burger Comparison Thread

Perhaps it was a bad restaurant or maybe it's just a poor seasonal burger (I had the "rib" burger) but I certainly wasn't wowed by the food and I finished the meal wishing I had the cajun fries from 5G instead.

Tried Patty & Bun for the first time today. The patty was probably the best I've ever had, even better than Honest Burger and Almost Famous. Highly recommended!

Went to Beefy Boys in Hereford on Saturday eve. Ordered the Bacon Boy with a side of bacon fries and deep fried mac and cheese balls. One of the best meals I've had in years. The burger was so rich with flavour (I determinedly separated a piece from all the sauces, cheese etc.) and all it's component part where just as good. Wasn't too big either which can often be annoying. Only problem is that it's an hours drive from home :/

Beefy Boys burgers are amazing. I've only been the once and its the only place I've eaten at where I still salivate just thinking about it. Sadly for me I too live over an hours drive away (Hereford is my family home) and the missus is a vegetarian :/

Everytime i walked past Honest Burgers and 5 guys in kings cross it was chock a block so didn't manage to try either of them:( just went to the big chill house for a couple of pints instead.

Just seen that there is a Smash burger going to be opening in Bath soon. Haven't been before but have heard good things so looking very forward to it opening.

Bath kind of lacks a really good burger place IMO.

Down in Laaandan today to meet a friend and see a band so i called by Honest Burgers for a late lunch/early dinner. To be honest after giving it a second try i definitely don't rate it as amazing. Certainly not bad but nowhere near as good as Almost Famous or Patty and Bun.

Any ideas on a good place to go in Cambridge been to Byron many times so bored of that now how the Steak and Honour restaurant?
its not strictly burger but http://www.smokeworks.co.uk/ was pretty good in cambridge

Smokeworks is very good, and rated as one of the best low & slow BBQ outside London in the UK
For Burgers, Butch Annies is a very good independent, and Honest Burger will be opening very soon as well.

I have been to smokeworks it ok but not as good as Big Easy in London

I went to Steak and Honour in the end not the best burger I have had way to greasy in truth.

I want to try Honest Burger I saw the store being created right in the same area as Steak and Honour dosnt open until April 17th.

Went to 7 Bones Burgers in Bournemouth this weekend. I've been to the original one in Southampton in the past and IMO they make the best burgers and after eating burgers in many many many other places, countries I think hey still do.

I went with the trio sliders this time, 2 beef and 1 chicken with brisket and bacon in gravy on fries. Could not finish all the fries, that alone is a meal in itself. The burgers are amazing, wish I live closer.

How big are the sliders? They look almost normal burger size, good effort on finishing those!

Interesting, I tried the new 7 Bone in Reading last week and it was awful, one of the worse burgers from a 'burger place' I've ever had.

Overpowering amount of mustard used, when I separated out a bit of meat it had no flavour at all. Also had the fries and they were terrible, runny gravy and again, bland!

Could you lovely folks recommend a few nice burger joints in Liverpool City Centre? Heading there in a few weeks time and want to plan some meals ahead of time :)

Yeah it sucks - took me all of 8 mins to drive to my local southampton 7bone the other day :D

In other burger news, second visit to a Patty n Bun planned for tomorrow....
