Big Sony PS3 announcment coming 31st March?

lol @ the comments on the playstation blog.

I guess it is big news in a way, price cut of one of/the best selling console of all time. But that said, i couldn't give a toss.

Who will be going ape over a ps2 price cut? Anyone that wanted a ps2 probably has one by now.

Sony hitting the mark again.

Was hoping for a PS3 P/C as well, would have pushed me in the direction of getting one, even a PSP cut would have been worthwhile since im thinking about one of them as well.

I got mine in march, but it could also be two years ago

Anyway, it was one of the first ones in Europe.

lol at the PS2 price cut, that is good news, now my unused 2nd hand PS2 slim is worth even less

It seems like some of you didn't get this: the 'big' announcement has been made.

Whether or not you agree that $20 off the ps2 price is a big announcement is another matter. I don't even know if this is confirmed for europe yet.

What a complete and utter disappointment. But, I've came to expect nothing less from Sony. They haven't said anything interesting for years. I wanted a new killer game to play!

According to Eurogamer Sony told them that the price cut isn't happening in the UK either, just the US and Europe.

Yeah, just saw that myself, odd move given we're the largest market in Europe.

Ah well, my fat PS2 still works nicely (and got me through two MGS games a few weeks ago), so I won't be needing a new one yet.

The € and £ are almost 1:1 at the moment so it's really bringing the PS2 price down in the rest of Europe to match the UK.

I think it was because they chose to announce it after the GDC, the media assumed it was because the announcement was something big and Sony wanted to give it a moment of it's own.
In truth, they probably didn't announce it because it wasn't important enough for the GDC.

I've been holding off buying a PS2 for the past 9 years cause it was too expensive, now I can finally get one!

After all that they just gave a ruddy discount on the PS2 and to add insult to injury they only gave the price cut to the rest of the EU and USA and shafted us in the UK with no price cut on the PS2 :eek:
