Big Tech Authoritarianism

You can sign up to Parler with any old number, I just put in loads of 111111 and a fake temporary email and it worked fine. Well not now of course.

This forum has a set of rules, you aren't forced to use the forum.

Break them you get banned.

Exactly the same principle as Twitter and Facebook.

it has nothing to do with authoritarianism, it is terms and conditions.

Simple.

Certain groups seem to be allowed to get away with breaking the rules whilst others are de-platformed and banned for doing so. Do you not think that those terms and conditions be applied evenly across the platform and not just selectively?

I'd probably chose not to participate in them, versus hoping that whining on an internet forum would make a difference.

The big corps are colluding to shut down competitors who have rules different to theirs, like I said in initial post with the Nazi quotes they're only really allowing a particular ideology to thrive on their platforms and shutting down any others through bannings/censorship/algorithmic suppression etc. They're not just policing their own users but attacking other platforms across the internet who allow free speech consistent with law.

If you do a quick search of Twitter you'll be able to find loads of posts of leftist Antifa types inciting violence against MAGA/Trump voters and they go largely ignored because most of the people in charge of enforcing those T&C's are of the same ideology. The T&C's are basically weaponised against a particular group in an uneven way because they want to promote a particular ideology that is largely intolerant of other views.

Care to provide us with examples from Twitter?

Preferably to keep it comparable, examples of a left wing countries leader inciting violence.

Examples or its just more of your lies and fantasies.

Ofc he can't. Just like the chap referencing his three mates losing their bank accounts, and the bloke from the 1960's declaring a lack of freedom because of CCTV cameras. Their reference points are their own limited views on the world, and in forums were people share their same views.

He won’t, he’s just a post and run back to his safe space type of member.

So you are saying there are rules specifically for country leaders in the t&case?

Wouldn't it be the same rules for anyone to incite violence?

If you read Jack Dorsey's release about why they banned Trump most of it was interpretation and they deleted his post calling for peace because it countered their whole narrative.

What do you think the word interpretation means? What do you think lawyers do?

What is the narrative you are referring to?

If the big corps are trying to shut down competition why did Amazon offer Parler server space in the first place?

Have you reported these posts? The ones calling for violence? I honestly thing its a case of the left thinks the right gets away with it and the right thinks the left gets away with it. I do know that if Biden or any Dem leader had instigated an insurrection like Trump did and then praised his followers on Twitter and with a video, telling them he loved them and they were patriots as they chanted to hang Mile Pence, he would have had his account suspended and the tweets deleted. Or are you with jsmoke and those were really antifa?

Parler archives? Only if you posted it on Parler, otherwise it's just posts and metadata from videos/images.

I know they have the images of peoples photos they used for identification purposes to become verified, so I wasn't sure if the phone numbers were also in the archive.

I've never been on the site. I didn't trust it because it was on Amazon servers. Though finding out today it was built using Wordpress, with all the stories of bugs, hacks and malware injections, only re-affirmed my belief that if any side of the political debate wants to have security they need to build from the ground up.
