Biggest disappointment of all time?

based on previous GTA games? lol.

or are you comparing it to a driving sim?

I admit the handling and such could be better, what i wouldn't give for more throttle control in GTA4 thank god the mod community for the pc made it hugely more re-playable.

even if you just went on the drive a few cars.

but saying it was a disappointment for that is not cool, unless you bought it thinking it was a driving sim with a murderous sandbox add on lol

based on previous GTA games although Midnight club has better physics, that game is using the same engine.

GT5 for me was ruined with the unrealistic penalizing system when touching bumpers with other cars. How the **** is that realistic losing acceleration when making contact with another car?

I still feel that the driving on GTA 4 ruined the game. I think it's more to do with the camera view points and how the cars react rather than the actual physics.

Also, GT 5 should've been on my list but I left it out due to the fact that 4 was a bigger disappointment to me.

GTA 4 just wasn't as much fun as it's predecessors.

I personally expected a LOT more from GTAs first 'next gen' outing. I mentioned earlier the fact there was a skatepark and driving range that you couldn't use. A fair ground that was entirely shut down. It should have, and could have, been so much better.

I bought it twice in an attempt to get into it but it simply didn't grip me like the others.

Halo 2

The internet hype for this game was unbelievable and I bought it on day 1. Somehow they had ruined the excellent, challenging and rewarding gameplay of Halo and replaced it with.. something generic.

The brutes made boring enemies compared to Elites and extra things the added like dual-wielding didn't really change the game. Weapons lost their charm and although the graphics were an improvement on the first game, there wasn't anything special about the art style.

I completed the single player in about 2 days and was just so, so disappinted. None of the Halo games have impressed me as much as the first.

Jet set willy 2, it was advertised in a magizine by the devolper sowfware projects as coming soon with a phone number to order now. Pesterd my mum for it, after six months of excitment and waiting, phone calls by my mum to find out what was happening it was cancelled never released.

Yes it was, I had it on the C64!

Same game as the first with about 50% extra rooms added...so obviously even more impossible :)

I have to agree with this, Halo, while a pathetic shadow of the game first touted before bunjie was bought by Microsoft and it had to be hacked to pieces to fit on the first Xbox still managed to be an entertaining and engaging shooter.
Halo 2 was very boring, and generic.

Thief: Deadly Shadows (AKA Thief 3). Thief and Thief II were sublime. Perfect, even. Deadly Shadows didn't just suck balls it hoovered them up. Tried to go back to the original but the graphics now make it unplayable unfortunately. If someone updated the first two with modern graphics they'd be my favourite games all over again.

I think Deadly Shadows was the last game I played that had proper load sequences between minor sections of a single, small map; sometimes up to a minute. Not the worst game ever but after the first two? Absolute disappointment.

Will be interested to see what 4 has to bring...

Agree with gt 5 God that game made me sad, fir something that took so long it wasnt even half the game forza is. It was boring as hell, ropey physics, clunky menus, zero originality.

The game is bad, even as a Sim

Far Cry 2. Far Cry is one of the best games ever made, so naturally I was expecting the second to be at least partly similar. I was wrong. It was shockingly bad.

Oh, this is on PC, but still...

I totally agree, i tihnk there are some HD mods out there for T/T2.

However T3 did have the scariest level in any game i've ever played, Shalebridge Cradle. Try playing that in dark with headphones on, really really creepy and disturbing.

For me it has to be GT on the PSP. I was looking forward to this game so much finally a modern GT I could play anywhere anytime. It had great graphics and 800 cars and the great GT game play of the console games.......... but no career mode. I pre ordered it and sold it an hour after it arrived through my front door.
I hope the PS vita GT if ever it comes out is a proper GT game.
