I thought we would have to wait till 2017 for the MT-07 Tracer, I like it. A lot heavier than the naked though... 182kg vs 196kg wet weight :(

I went to Hoars farm today to meet what I thought would be a few Bikers off a Group I know & it turned out to be an Epic meet with untold British bikes & a sprinkling of everything else it was Superb. I have got some pics to post up but will do that later as I've wasted enough time indoors already. :p

That's not bad considering the bigger tank (3 litres/2kg) and extra fairings, stronger rear subframe I'd presume for the panniers.

Looks great. Although the front indicators look like a bit of an afterthought.

Yeah saw that at the MCN London show, looks great. They've gone for the retro add on thing too.

Just thinking, what are the rivals for MT07 tracer? Kawasaki versys 650 (meh!) or V-strom 650 (zzzzz....!). Both are more expensive too (£6800-£7000).

Should be good for well over 200 miles on a tank too.

New MT-07 tracer, bob on! http://www.visordown.com/motorcycle-news-new-bikes/yamaha-tracer-700-revealed/31143.html

£6300  Perfect cheap commuter/tourer right there, they will absolutely fly out the showrooms.

The price unfortunately reflects the quality, at least on the normal MT-07. Saw one that was a year old the other day, was rusty, plasticy, handlebar grips had split and various other issues. Wouldn't want one of those for commuting really. It's a shame as they look decent and can sound very nice.

Hmm, that's a shame if that's true, might just have been an abused one I suppose.

Anyone doing bike4life this year? 8th may.
That's the day of the OCUK bike meet. Priorities, man! :p

It's not the first I've heard of them looking rough pretty quickly unfortunately. Somethings got to give at that sort of price point.

Maybe, but then I wouldn't expect that much wear even if they had it for a year and never did anything to it. It may have been abused further than that though and done a huge amount of miles, I'm not sure.

Either way, there were still issues such as the decals peeling off on the back that shouldn't really appear after only a year no matter how badly you treat it.

Hmm, true. If I was looking for a new commuter/long distance comfy bike it would be between one of these or a used K1300s - problem with the K1300s is that although they're much better built and can take the miles with ease, you have K1300s running costs/repair bills.... :o whereas an MT07 tracer will be peanuts to run, especially with a warranty.

I know but for the meet I'm looking at 6 hours of riding before you take into account the actual meet and while I love riding 8 to 9 hours in the saddle is a long time with work the next day, whereas bike4life is just down the road.

Lightweight ;):D

Nah that is a little too far, it's 2 hours away for me down the M25/M3 but it's heading back towards home, Ryka's is about an hour from me on nice roads so should be fun.

True

Have you seen the new sv650a? Released 2017 I think it was, nice looking bike.
Yeah, posted a video of the first release ages ago. :p

One of the reasons why I went for SV. :)

I'm doing Mod1 on that day, its my birthday too! :D What better way is there to spend a birthday than on a bike? The instructor was like, are you sure you want to do it on your birthday and I was like why wouldn't I? :p

Tbh the integrated tail light isn't that bad, you can clearly see the indicators even if the sun is shinning onto the tail. I thought it would be worse when I first installed it. :p The low beam light isn't that noticeable during a really sunny day though. :(
