Nearly dragged some little scrote off his bike on the way home.
Coming down the A449, peeing down with rain can't see 5ft in front of you and some little bell end on a dirt bike appears from one of the fields no lights or anything swerving all over the dual carriageway nearly takes me out so I open it up to get past him and the little **** had the cheek to nod at me.

Looked like he was slowing to stop for the red light and I was ready to pull up beside him and have a friendly chat, luckily for his health and my clean record he shot off through the lights as they changed.

That and the fact I seem to have a wobble of some sort in my back wheel, has really peed on my chips for the evening!

Crap in what way?

I sat and saw various bikes, in comparison most Kawasaki felt cheap apart from the sports. The materials, feel of controls, that outdated ugly dashboard and the squeak the bike made when I sat on it even though I'm only 11-12 stone. Its mainly ER6's and Ninja 300 that I'm referring to.

The new Honda's I've the same feeling, souless bikes... they do seem like good commuter bikes, but they're not the same as the older Honda's. ;)

Yamaha MT-07 felt a lot more premium and I believe it costs less? (need to check) The SV650 also has its own character, a bit ageing now and MT-07 seems like a great replacement for it. I'm not crossing it off the list though, but there's a limit I've set for both of these bikes as to how much I'll spend.

It's hard to explain, but I think every bike should have its character. I know someone said that the engines used in ER6's are used in races. But, I would love to see ER6-N vs MT-07 totally stock (inc. tyres) on a track. :p

I do like the ZX636R and ZX10R, its just the lower tier Kawasaki don't really seem to be that exciting (soulless).

I agree on that but they are aimed at cheap commuting really, the switchgear is usually similar across all the range, they tend to re use the same parts

But those commuter bikes are soulless, there's nothing exciting in them... :(

The MT-07 is being used by various stunt riders = https://www.facebook.com/stunter13dotcom/videos/954018004645779/
Its light, has nice torque and when I sat on it... I didn't feel the weight of it, it felt as if I picked up my ktm from a stand lol... The XJ6-N, it felt heavy, but the quality was still there and that feel. Honda CB650F on a first glance looks fairly attractive, but when you get to see her closer and sit on her... that magic disappears. :p

I've owned loads of kawasakis and whilst I agree the build quality isn't great, they all seem to inject a bit of character when you ride them compared to other brands. Honda especially engineer all the character out of their bikes.

Character is a matter of personal opinion in most cases, what gives character to one persons riding might not necessarily be what another wants.
Build quality and componentry across the commuter ranges tends to be near enough the same across all manufacturers imo. The one thing I really don't like about the MTs is silver bolts on the black engine casings... Why not colour match them???

Are you thinking of the ones that replace the bleed nipple thing maybe? You can get non-return ones of those as well, but I'm not going to that hassle when you can just put the valve on the line that you use!

I've got a full set of those sat in my bits box somewhere as well picked them up when M&P were having a 50% off sales so they only cost me a couple of quid all together, haven't decided if I'll bother fitting them yet.

On a slightly related note since playing with my caliper at the weekend I seem to have developed a bit of a wobble in my rear wheel, hoping I've just knocked it out of alignment slightly as I did have a quick fiddle with a loose chain adjuster.
That's on my list for Saturday along with giving it a proper clean and wax.

Fingers crossed as long as it's not peeing down on Sunday I'm planning on going on my first ride out with a group as well, Midlands riders have their first run on so I'm planning on tagging along.

I've also decided it needs either the full lower fairings or a belly pan, £185 for a colour matched belly pan or £285 for colour matched fairings :o
