you'll run out of talent way before the bike will if it's your first time.

Hah don't say that :D the best part of track riding is you will reach a point on your first track day when you think 'Im so low, or i'm going so fast round this corner' then someone comes round you on the outside like you are standing still, you then realise your bike has a lot more to give :D

I think Monza may be just the ticket, it's only 4 hours from me.

I can swing by Titicino and ride the famous Centovalli (100 valleys) mountain pass on the way :D

Yeah there's one by focused events in July, £500 though

I need to get along to Brands to spectate at a track day, it's literally 20 minutes up the road from me!

It's an F1 track, with an insanely long main straight, and it's basically straight-corner-straight-corner. You'd be at full throttle and probably bouncing off the limiter in 6th for a good amount of time :D

If you want to go fast then you can't go wrong with Monza, but that's about it.

I would love to do a track day at something like spa francorchamps. Good mix or speed and twists.

Philip island for me if it weren't windy but tbh any track would do me to play on.

Why is it people neglect their bikes so much? Looking around on biketrader and S1000Rs that are virtually brand new are already showing rust. Have you really got to be that patient when it comes to bike hunting to get one that someone has actually taken care of in this country?

I don't know about the S1000Rs but on a lot of bikes unless they're a dry day only summer princess then some rust is almost inevitable never mind how much you try and keep on top of it.

Just buy a honda doesnt matter if they looked after it.

Bucket of water over it, good as new :p

Because a lot of people treat a bike like they'd treat a car - put it away wet, leave it wet, don't wash it.

If you want to keep rust away and you commute on it, you really need to wash properly every weekend, dry it as much as possible after a wet ride and treat it with ACF50/FS365.

FS365 has been doing a really good job for me. After a wet ride, I dry as much as possible, then spray FS365 all over. It makes it look a bit greasy over the week, but washes off with water on the weekend.
