It might be personal preference, but for combined touring / fun so far I've found the Metzeler RoadTec 01s to be superior to the Angel GTs, especially in the wet.

Anyone carry and has used one of the tyre plugging kits? Looking at getting either a stop n go mushroom type or a Dynaplug kit along with some CO2 cartridges just to live under the seat.

Any recommendations of major issues with either?

I carry one of these: https://www.amazon.co.uk/Gear-Greml...r=1-1&keywords=motorcycle+puncture+repair+kit

Used it once, on a mate's bike. It got us 100 miles back home without any dramas. I always carry my pack with me now when going on any trip of reasonable distance. I carry a few spare CO2 canisters too, in case someone else get's a puncture and isn't carrying any gear. They're small enough not to take up any space, and I think three of them will fill a rear tyre.

Yep 1980 was the first LC. I've owned 5 LCs in total, all in the 80s, 2 x RD125LC, RD250LC and RD350N Mk1 and Mk2 YPVS. Passing my test in the back then and riding a 2 stroke hand grenade, I sometimes wonder how I've made it this far when I think of some of the shenanigans that we got upto. I've certainly calmed down a lot since. Old git :p

There are some absolutely stunning examples about, good to see the 'Elsie' name still going strong nearly 40 years on. I'm surprised Yamaha haven't jumped on the retro bandwagon and produced one of the MT models in the original RD paint schemes (Like they did with the 2015/16 R1 in yellow/black Kenny Roberts colours)

Anyway I've definitely hit maturity, taking the S1000RR for warranty check and yearly service tomorrow, got a GSA for the whole day. Never ridden a Boxer engined bike before, curiosity has gotten the better of me, I hope I don't like it..

On closer inspection it appears it wasnt the chain making the sounds. Most likely cause is sprocket carrier bearing has collapsed. Will have to take it apart and have a look

R16 Jacket and Tractech evo 2 trousers, I'm swapping for a larger size with a guy, he tried mine on today and said it fits him better. So I'll have a complete tractech evo 2 piece. :)

I'm doing a straight swap, otherwise 2 piece RST leathers usually go for 150 quid. :)

Edit

Looks like the RD sold.
