Don't know why the arrow remap would sort out your gear indicator?

I would check all the cables make sure they all look okay. Could take the terminals off the battery for half hour, I'm sure I've read up that resets the ecu.

No idea then mate, just seems wired how an exhaust change could cause the issue?

Not many reports of things like that happening on the newer str's. Older models did with the gear position sensor behind sprocket cover.

I would double check you ain't knocked your clutch switch or anything where lever is mate, maybe some wd40 too.

Pads have arrived today. A Google suggests light sanding in the disc rotors to remove the old pad deposits as I'm going for gg to HH. Probably fit them tomorrow or something.

Had the M7RR tyres fitted, £270.

Noticed a weird issue, since changing the exhaust, the gear indicator is all over the place. With it in neutral, knock it into first and it reads 4th gear, pull away and change gear and it reads 3rd, sometimes 4th, when I slow down and go down to 1st it reads 2nd for a while. I've done the force adaption but I'm thinking I need a remap to sort the gears out.

I've checked the gear rod, shifter and cables and they are all ok.

Remap won't sort the gears out. I had the same issue before and after trying the arrow map, and it's a really common problem across the entire Street Triple range.

Unfortunately once they stop working properly they often need completely replacing. I was apparently lucky and a full clean fixed mine.

Very different sort of power, you don't get the low down rip-your-arms-off power of my Speed Triple. I could really feel the difference in the throttle as well, coming from cable to ride by wire I guess, it really did feel 'detached', very difficult to explain.

Really enjoyed it, but wouldn't 'upgrade'/sidegrade to it from my Speed Triple. It didn't make me go 'wow, I'm buying this' like I did when I test rode a Speed. Maybe that's because I'm coming from a 2015 bike, so there's only 2 years in it.

Loved the quick shifter.

It was a lot to take in. Do I like all the tech, colour dash, riding modes, etc.? It's fun to fiddle with, but is that what I want in a bike? I'm not sure yet.

Amazing bike either way and if I was coming from something older (e.g. if this was my first upgrade from the Hornet) then the deposit would be down already :)

None of the above is negative towards the bike or final comments, I really need longer on it. It was mainly for my brother to test ride as he's seriously considering it, so I didn't get enough time really.

One of my favourite things to do on my Tuono is coming out of a corner at around 4k rpm and just feeding in the torque which then slingshots you out the corner... So. Much. Fun! :D:cool:

Lots of low down/midrange torque is where it's at man! :D

You can get away with a decent bit of throttle still banked over a little on my Tuono so long as you're a) smooth and b) not at 6k+rpm. By the time you're upright the engine is singing well and the next corner is upon you :D

The weather over the past few days has been great - having warm dry roads makes you realise just how cautiously you ride over winter - i.e no real leaning in :D.

I noticed my kick stand doesn't spring back like it used to, and theres a bit or rust around the bolt. I plan to sort it out at the week end, will any kind of grease do?

Any light grease will do. I normally use Halfords spray grease, works nicely.

Well that's the Street triple gone now. Nipped up to see a mate in his flat yesterday around 5, then 10 minutes later we heard an almighty crack from outside. Just as I got to the window I see some little **** jump on my bike and ride it off. Just about launched myself out of the first floor window after him! Obviously everyone knows how quick these guys are, but to actually experience it is unreal. Disc lock and steering lock must have only slowed them down by about 10 seconds. Thinking back there was a scooter behind me acting a little strange for a while before I pulled into the road, but didn't think anything of it. Suppose it was them following me.

So in the last two years, that's a 3 month old MT-07 written off by a careless driver, and a triple stolen after owning it for about 10 months. Really considering giving up now, or just getting a track day bike. Will see how it goes with the insurance this time I suppose. Worst part is the Police refusing to come out due to "insufficient resources", then telling me that if it's found dumped, they'll call me to go and drag it out of whichever field it's in myself - and if I want it forensically examined then I will need to pay for it, either personally or through my insurance??!!

Sorry to hear that :(. The police really don't care. When I had my bike stolen, it took them over a month to come and look at the CCTV, and when they did, they immediately closed the case as the thieves were wearing helmets... The security at my place had photos of the suspects, as they'd been stealing from the area for months, but it seems it was too much effort to investigate.

Hope the insurance sorts it quickly for you.

Out of curiosity, what disc lock was it?
