I passed my mod one today! Picked up two minors though, both at the speed trap.

I got 49kph on the emergency stop and 48 on the swerve. I can live with that!

As we rode into the center we saw a guy on his emergency stop, he managed to lock and skid the back wheel due to gunning it. After seeing that, I tried to tone it down a bit (too much) :p

Got my 1 minor for the exact same reason, 1kmh off the speed they wanted!

If I was to do it'd again, I'd now know that you can just about open those bikes full throttle and you won't be too far over the 50k limit, if it all. :p

Congrats btw. When is mod 2?

Congrats, that's the hard bit over!

My DAS instructor has a really good method of nailing the speed (think mine was 52 and 53kph), 3rd gear through the bend at 10-15mph, and on passing the last cones, nail the throttle fully open (or what I thought was fully open :p) and off the power just before the speed trap. Worked every time :D

Cheers all!

Was slightly worried about the test this morning. The area we were using for practice seemed to fill up with travelers over night  so we didn't have much space for practice today.
We did a few maneuvers by their caravans :D

The soonest I could get Mod 2 was in three weeks time.

Congrats and good luck with Mod 2, it sucks that you've to wait 3 weeks though. But hopefully the time will fly quickly! :p

Michelin Pilot Road 3/4 or Pirelli Angel GT? The tyres on the SV are kind of squared off, the older bloke who I bought it off didn't lean much, the chicken strips are comparable to my Duke when I bought it. I'll have to replace them at some point. :p

Have a look at Metzeler M7RR too.

Angel GT every time. Great tyres.

Opened it up after the turn, went through the speed trap both times at 58k. I'm on an a2 (restricted) bike - don't ask me how.

Love BT016s on my SV, bit pricey though. Probably going to swap to Pilot Power 2CT next time, but my bike is a toy rather than a commuting machine!

The arrow cans I made an offer on Monday morning were declined and he emailed me straight after saying no, he's just messaged me again saying ok I'll accept your offer, send me a buy it now request, unlucky mate, if you weren't such a **** you might have made a sale :p

Made a serious kit faux pas this morning, decided to go with my summer gloves and a thin wool liner glove instead of my full on thick winter gloves, at one point I couldn't feel anything in one of my fingers and the pain was immense as the feeling came back while I was sat at some roadworks :o

Nice work!

I found I went too fast on the speed tests because my training area was small I used to give it the beans but the test centre was much larger so i went too fast haha

You'll find that unless you live on a track your tyres will square off no matter how much you lean.

Even living in the dales, with a twisty commute, and pretty much no chicken strips, my tyres are badly squared off now after about 5k miles. It's the touring that does it I think!

It's annoying as there is still plenty of tread all round the tyre.
