Still debating whether to sell the Striple come the spring, I've only done about 2k miles in the 3 years I've had it and as much as I love it when I do get out on it it's a fair chunk of change to have sat in the garden.

I'm saying this now but I know as soon as it comes out for it's first spin of the year to get it's MOT I'll change my mind :o

Have this discussion again in summer :D

@McGray agred with diddums for the theory test. I’ve been driving 20 odd years to the choice questions were easy enough/common sense but the hazard perception caught me out in practice as it took a few attempts to work out what they wanted.

DAS course all booked starting 14th Feb with mod 2 on the 27th! Need to hold myself off from bike shopping for the moment…

Good luck trigg, MOD 1 should be easy enough, when it comes to the emergency stop... don't be afraid to open it up! The lad i did my DAS course with almost failed MOD1 because he only just got up to speed prior to hitting the brakes. Literally got through by 2 maybe 3 mph.

This, absolutely 100% this! I too failed it first time because I was trying to come across as a responsible rider. That's not what they want, they already know that you'll sometimes be an irresponsible rider and need to know that you know how to react if something goes wrong, and that means to absolutely hammer the anchors. Don't be shy to go fast, I was way over the top speed the second time and passed.

Good to know! Looking forward to getting back on a bike and quite glad my lessons/tests are all quite close to each other so.

I may have already started shopping for bikes…at least to get an idea of what’s there and what I like the look of.

Dammit, the sun is making me itch for a bike again.

Good luck. Because you've been driving a car so long you'll probably find Mod 2 easier than Mod 1. At least I did. The only tricky parts of Mod 1 for me was the U turn where I almost went outside the line, and then the emergency stop where I only just got up enough speed. But it's not that hard. So get Mod 1 in the bag and then it should be fine. Do you have a 125 to practice on?

Looking at this weather outside I'm starting to get the itch again. I've still got a Benelli K2 100cc in a mate's garage which I bought for £49.88 and managed to get it running, but it still needs work. I want to get it to pristine condition, something to do.

Not sure whether to keep it stock and keep it, keep it stock and sell it, or keep it and tune the absolute nuts off of it and turn it in to a bit of a hooligan machine.

Problem is I want another bike, but my challenge is to buy it using only money from fixing up other bikes. So I'll probably do it up, sell it, use that profit to buy another project, fix it up and sell it on, etc.

I'm close to hiring a unit down the road for office/workshop stuff if you need somewhere to work on it.

@Hades yeah I figured as much that mod1 might be tricker. But I’ve noted for the emergency stop I need to not be shy worth throttle. During the cbt the uturn off road was fine it was only on road it took a few attempts as I was focusing on the leaves in the gutters so of course wasn’t turning enough.

Don’t have a 125 for practice, that was my original plan but decided to just get on with the das instead

Cheers dude, but I specifically wanted a house with a garage or this exact reason :D

(you're welcome to use it too if you need!)

I need to rent a van to go collect it though, another £100 or so :/

Cheers dude! I'll keep that in mind. I'm restoring a van (long term project) and want to start modifying my CB400 at some point but no space at home.

Where abouts is the bike? I could probably get it in the boot of my estate. I did with my lads KTM 85.

Ah fantastic, maybe we can work on them together! Is this the green one in your youtube vid?

The scooter is in Redhill.
