@Scort Did you ever had to adjust the screws for that Pinlock on your HJC RPHA 70? I had removed and reapplied the Pinlock on mine 3 times but I still got a bit of fogging on my way back from work. This was at 30 mph and low speeds and at night. It was fine all day.

The only difference being I had the top event open in the morning and had it closed at night.

P.S. - This is a a question to all. I just tagged Scort as he had the same helmet. :)
I am wondering if Pinlocks are not 100% fog proof and they do need some air circulation.

Pinlock have three different 'performance levels' as per their site.

I've only ever bought Shoei or Arai that have the 120XLT, but I understand other brands might bundle other 'levels'.

Secondly, if it's fogging between the two layers then it needs adjusting to get the bead in contiguous contact.

So generally, it's either hella humid and so it gives up and starts to fog on the external surface of the Pinlock (ie the bit you keep breathing on) or the seal is compromised and it's fogging inside.

Some lids it's taken an annoying amount of faffing to get the seal perfect!

Oh, lastly it's always good to have air circulating in your lid :D. Was it FortNine who did that 'test' to show O2 reduction in a closed lid with a skirt and sat stationary? Scary stuff.

Edit: Oh, and their support page on fitment and also cleaning the thing occasionally.

@Scort @Griffo Thank you for the replies. I will have to check if the fogging is on the Pinlock due to moisture accumulation within the helmet. The Pinlock had passed my test of blowing warm air on it and it didn't fog up.

Will need one more test ride I suppose with air vents open. At least the top ones.

Grab a sheet of paper and see if you can slot it between the pinlock and visor anywhere. If you can you need to tweak the pins for a better fit.

I've had some helmets where it's slotted straight in and been perfect and I've had some like my latest one where it took a fair bit of tweaking. Thankfully my latest lid has the nice pinlock pins with a screw in and if you buy the pinlock tool for a couple of quid it's very easy to adjust the pins.

The ones where they just friction fit push through the visor are a right pain in the arse.

I have got screws on the outer side of the HJC's visor which I perhaps need to tweak. I read about the paper trick and will give that a try. On my LS2, the Pinlock actual got a tear while reinstalling and it works flawlessly now lol.

I read on Pinlock website that I need to remove the Pinlock before adjusting the pins and then install again. Will try that post the paper trick.

I read a bit more and also watched the J&S Accessories videos on Pinlock. I have come to a conclusion that the Pinlock fogged up due to me not keeping any helmet vent open, especially the Chin one. Also, when I reached closer to home the streets were wet which did not help the cause after 30+ mins into the ride. The Pinlock can only take so much moisture in. :)

Anyone has experience with Motobatt MBTX12UHD batteries? I ran the code on mine to check the year of manufacture and it comes out to be May 2020. I presume I am due a change anyway. Online reviews are not very inspiring with the longevity of it.

I will be going with Yuasa YTX14-BS as my next one for more CCA. But wanted to check here if anyone has experience with Motobatt.

Cheers!
