That Youtube footage is excellent considering the price of those things!!. Do you have one of these?. I'm off to order two. Will stick one on the front of the bike and one on the rear. Awesome!! :D

A few lads over on BCF have got these , the first vid is a mod on there
must admit im tempted :D

Curse you, I have no need for one and have just bought one anyway....
Guaranteed the day I put it on the bike is the day I crash through my own gross stupidity!

well made it back in 1 piece :) , went down last night and stopped at a travel inn, defo a very good move. The jouney back was a nightmare. Bloody freezing and gusty as hell. If I hadnt of borrowed my brothers goretex jack and gloves I seriously dont think I could have made it back, as it was I had to stop every 80-90 mile to refuel adn walk around a bit.

Hard to have any inital thoughts on the actual bike becuase I was so cold and stuck on a motorway. It looks bloody great though and sounds amazing. Nice grunty engine that revs nice and freely as well. Seems pretty heavy to stear though, mind you I havent ridden a bike in anger for 3 years! so I was tip toeing around.

One weird glitch happened on the way back, after the 2nd fuel stop, about 10 mins in I noticed it was idleing very high (around 5k), it did this until I stopped again for fuel. Turned it off then on again, same thing. Called the guy I just bought it from but he couldnt think what it could be, he suggested called the ducati shop it was bought from. In the end I went and had a coffe, came back 15 mins loater, fired her up and it was fine, all very strange, guess it could just be because it had ben sat for 3-4 months.

Gonna give it a proper ride out tomorrow and get some nice pics

The Keychain spy cams are good for the money. I have a few :) actually the middle video past on the last page was my video. You will need atleast a 4GB memory card because the file sizes are rather large (3-4GB an hour) but the battery only lasts 50mins max, which is part of the reason I have 4! 50mins is based on room temp, stick it on your bike in cold weather and expect sub 10mins battery life but hopefully summer will help.

All the info you ever need is here: http://www.chucklohr.com/808/
#3 cam is the best, as long as it has an MicroSD slot and 720x480 res then it'll be a #3.

I am probably forgetting something like electricity but would it be possible to charge it on the go from the bike battery?

Thanks for that link Mr. 2004, lots of useful stuff it seems.

I'd also be interested in general advice around rigging up a bike loom -> USB cable.

The weekend warriors appeared with the dry weather. Some awful overtakes lots of wobbling about, painful to watch!

Also, got some new tyres on my RF600R after getting a rear puncture on the M60! Went for Pilot Power 2CT's . A-MAZE-ING. I had Contiforce's on before which are a harder compound but the difference in grip is genuinely unbelievable. Going out for a nice long ride tomorrow and will see if any knees get down :)

It wont work via USB cable, or even USB charger because it tries to mount the memory card. My AEE MD80 does charge by USB and record, but only from a USB charger.

You could probably rig it up direct if you removed the battery with the correct voltage etc.

Well fired up the S3 for first time in a month and went for a wee blast.......pulled over to make a call and send a fruity text to the good lady and tried to start bike back up again!!!! D'oh, that will teach me for not checking the battery properly.

Called AA but was told 90 mins so pulled battery out and gave it a shuggle! Hey presto fired up and thankfully never did the sprag in while trying the first time.

Not going to replace battery as bike going against duke soon so on charge and hopefully will do me till then :p

Got a multimeter? Charge it fully, then check the voltage every 24 hours for 3-4 days. It should be about 12.8v, if it drops below 12v within a few days then its knackered. Factor in temperature too, if its stored outside or somewhere very cold then the battery will loose its charger faster anyway.

Also worth checking the charging unit since it died after you've ridden it. Check voltage with ignition off, start bike, rev to about 4k rpm and check voltage again. It should be a few volts higher, if it isnt then its not charging.

I'll do that cheers!

2009 Buell XB12SCG :) always wanted one and with Buell going under last year, I decided buy one as it was pretty much the last chance to get one new.
Its VERY different to anything else ive rode, but I love it.

Disc mounted on the rim seems like a good idea, transfers the braking stress to the rim. I suspect with the disc so close to the outer diameter of the rim that braking is greatly increased too.

Is that the model with the exhaust which runs under the bike and comes out in front of the rear wheel?

Yeah, although its starting to show signs of corrosion already with less than 300miles on the clock. Thats even after I coated it in WD40 after every outing, damn salty roads. :(
