Had a fantastic ride with my mate yesterday, went to alton and back, did some very nice roads!

Thing is, the 60 mile trip was over in a flash, only took us about a hour and that included a 10 min smoke break!

Going to McLaren today to celebrate the first F1 race of the season, so no chance of getting out again :(

Very cheeky plate on the gixxer, and nice R1 up there too.

I ended up going to Crail today to see what kind of time I could put down. A wee bit disappointed I didn't drop into the 10's (by 4 hundreth of a sec) but I can only blame lack of talent for that.

In the end my best time was 11.003 @ 137mph.

had to buy new gear almost from scratch today as not bought any for years...

went into hein gericke early and tried to spend as little as I could :(

ended up with tricky ii gortex jacket / trousers with all needed armour.
some cheap 100quid HG race boots with gortex
and lastly a new AGV Stealth SV Camo lid....

always hated AGV as abit cheap but this ones quite nice plus you get little flip down dark visor which is pretty neat. also get 5 star rating which was my main criteria other than fit. (had all 5 star lids on iphone at the ready)

Just back from the Wootton Bassett Mother’s Day Run – pictures (maybe a new thread) to follow, after I’ve had a chance to eat that is :p

Needless to say though, it was an immense event, so glad I got to take part in it.

Ello :)

Just joined the forum and noticed this section.

Some of you may have seen me around Stoke already, you can't miss the numberplate.

It's had a lot more done to it over winter, more carbon, R1 calipers and wavey discs blah blah blah.[/QUOTE]

Ahh, wondered what that bike looked like in the flesh. Seen a video buy a mate called Tom(Falcon, rides an RSV Tuono), on the Cat & Fiddle, and you and your bike are tagged in the video, and I wondered where your registration was :p lol.

A bit pic heavy, pretty sure it doesn’t break any rules!

Early start – met up with some people at the local dealership:

It was immense, really made you feel humble to be part of it, and was pretty emotional seeing the support given – and that was before we even hit Bassett; there were hundreds out on the route into the town, the town crier (and other officials) for Malmesbury was even out waving his hat.

It took hours to get moving once we were in the air base, they had rows of 250 bikes that went off in twos to make a group, I was part of the fourth group to go out and probably hit the town at 13:00, they still had another 4-5 groups to clear from the morning entrants as I left and had even more arriving!

The last I heard, there were between 10,000 – 14,000 registered entries, and probably the same again who had just turned up to see if there were spaces free. Would be interesting to know how long it took for the entire lot to pass.

Why has that utter Pillock of a police officer stoped you in the middle of a road and parked his bike in the road too

Exactly mate, It's on Brittania Stadium, first roundabout, 1st left, I'm stopped in front of a barrier, So can't go anywhere. That pillock decides to park ON the roundabout when it's packed and there's a game on.

sounds like a great day, and lots of money raised for an excellent cause. I reckon a few bikers will be boycotting the Daily Mirror after this article though:
