after the second one the trauma nurses/doctors at the hospital said if i hadn't had them on instead of strapping up my mallet finger (an injury most commponly caused by getting your hand cause in bedsheets) they would instead have been talking about how i was going to walk for the rest of my life.
i did learn though a 70mph off on smooth m62 motorway tarmac = very little damage.
45 mph off on very rough shopddy pot holed tarmac on an inner city dual craigge way = huge abrasion damage.
Shift your body to the left at low speeds, motocross style... it helps. I nearly crashed like that when I was training for my license. That's the tip my instructor gave me.]
