Bikers Youtube thread

Er... no way will I be doing that with a heavy rucksack! Guaranteed way to go splat at the first corner.

Not sure if you were saying you're not going to be leaning off the left on a right hander (which is correct) or if you don't want to lean off to the right?

Every year touring I use at least a Kriega R30 and have no issues with knee down / hanging off on a sportsbike.

Hanging off (correctly) == less bike lean angle. Although granted you have to have more upper body strength to avoid you falling off the side with extra weight on your back.

Hope all is well after the crash.

IC3 is (I think) taking about the supermoto/Motorcross style of cornering, keeping the body upright while the bike leans under you, which would mean more lean angle.

Kreeeee leant off the bike (off the right on a right hander) to reduce the lean angle, which is correct.

Shift your body to the left at low speeds, motocross style... it helps. :) I nearly crashed like that when I was training for my license. :p That's the tip my instructor gave me.

No, not ever in normal road riding.

The only time you would shift weight in this manner is at low speeds on U-Turns where counter steering does not come into play and you want to counter balance some weight during a full lock or close to full lock U-Turn. You get better benefits by practicing better throttle, rear brake and vision disciplines however.

Can you guys stop harassing me about my crash video now please?

what on earth happened there

cant tell from the timing of the rev up if it was just after the bike went down or just before, did you open the throttle a bit roughly or think maybe some oil or crap on the outer edge fo the trye that finally touched down?

surprisingly little damage though.

I can't tell you what happened as I have no clue. My friend behind me said the front wheel just seemed to give way if you want the proper translation.

The road seemed fine to me though.
